Even though she didn't reply, she snuggled closer. Jeremy looked around anxiously and there began to walk the few blocks to his house. She never said a word but Jeremy talked to her the whole time. "You know, something about you just makes me feel like, I have to protect you from even the slightest harm. I don't really know why... character flaw on my part, I guess. Except, that I only feel like that around you... Its weird. And normally I wouldn't admit this kinda of stuff, But I think you will understand. I hope you will." He babbled on and useless stuff, until he reached his apartment.
He carefully laid her on his bed, took her jackets off and tucked her in gently. Jeremy changed in to a pair of comfortable sweats, grabbed a glass of water, his notebook, and went to sit beside Chris, just in case she woke up and was scared. Yeah he was being a super sensitive guy.

Chris had the sensation of moving, though she knew for a fact that her legs weren't moving...though she was in fact having a rather strange dream. She was trapped in a place that was all white with frozen trees and icicles that hung randomly suspended in the air...everything was cold. There was only one source of warmth in the entire place and the rest was icy...that source was a retreating silhouette of a guy dressed in black, even his hair was black. Chris chased after him in her dream, seeking warmth but every one step she took forward it seemed like he took three. Eventually he was gone from sight even though she could still hear his voice, it echoed and teased her. She tried to yell back, calling the silhouette by his name. Then there was no warmth, she was alone and all she could do in the dream then was sit and cry. The tears she shed didn't even satisfy her; they froze immediately after falling.
"JEREMY!", Chris lurched up in bed, trembling. It was only after her eyes raked the room that she realized he was the retreating figure from her dream and that he was indeed not keeping her warm anymore. Her eyes were huge with what must have been half confusion and left-over irrational terror from her strange dream. The other thing she'd realized was that she'd actually been crying in her sleep...the frozen tears on her cheeks were evidence of that.

Jeremy had been sitting beside Chris all night and he really needed to stretch his legs. He stood up and was heading out the door when Chris bolted up and Screamed his name in panic. He was at her side instantly. "What? What is it? What's wrong?!" He said frantically, touching her arm; it was ice cold. he sat down on thebed and pulled her into his arms. it was then he noticed the frozen tears on her face. "Well, I take it your not mortal? If that is the case, we both have some explaining to do." Jeremy said, holding Chris tightly. She was shaking, badly. "Shh. Calm down, hun. Everything's fine. I promise." He whispered gently. And right then, he meant it.

Chris didn't hesitate to latch onto Jeremy when he was back at her side; it was like a kid seeing their mom again after they'd gotten lost in the mall, though they still hardly knew eachohter. To be truly honest, she really didn't care. She'd always been a fairly good judge of character and unless Jeremy was completely full of bluffs and made of lies...he was a good guy. Eventually she quit shaking and sniffed, putting one--still icy--hand on his chest to push herself back. Chris met his eyes with a small regretful smile because all she could think of was how he'd probably rather be doing something else more fun than babysitting her. "-" Chris had opened her mouth but nothing came out, she looked down; frowning as she cleared her throat and moved a white strand of hair away from her eyes. "Sorry...I'm really sorry." She looked down, wondering what he'd do now that she wasn't unconcious...probably ask her to leave, though she didn't know where she was in the first place let alone how to get home.
And for the first time yet, she wondered where exactly she was, realized that it was night time and that Jeremy had changed. Even though it was the least of her worries, she was terribly overdressed. The only thing that brought her out of the inner mind-babble was the sentence that Jeremy said. "Well, I take it you're not mortal? If that is the case, we both have some explaining to do."
She froze at that, wondering what she'd done to give herself away...realizeing it was the tears, she wiped them off and kept the frozen crystals in her hand. As long as they were there, they wouldn't melt. Chris's left hand slid a few inches over to grab Jeremy's hand, she didn't relent the cold that she usually held in; if he wasn't 'human' it wouldn't hurt him or at least it shouldn't. The other hand, she held palm up to display the frozen tears. "I don't know what I am. . .but. . .what're you?" Her blue eyes went up to meet his, curious more than scared. Should she be scared?

She looked, scared, tired and shocked. Way to freak her out... He thought angrily to himself. She wiped the frozen tears off her face into the palm of her hand. She grabbed Jeremy's hot hand with her icy cold one, but he didn't mind. "I don't know what I am. . .but. . .what're you?" she said, meeting his gaze, looking nothing more than curious. "Well, I'm going to assume your not a mortal, so I'm not technically breaking the ruls." He leaned in closer and whispered into her ear. "I'm a fallen angel." And he let his long black wings unfurl. Now she's probably going to freak. Nice move... He thought to himself but he didn't regret telling her. Not for one moment did he regret telling her. OCC:// sorry its short.. i'm tired....

Chris listened, sitting with weirdly good posture as she waited, silent for what he had to say. "Well, I'm going to assume you're not a mortal so I'm not technically breaking the rules." Jeremy's gaze was intense and Chris fought the impulse to fidget or look away. She was itching to know what he was, had been dying for years to meet someone more than regular. She stayed still as Jeremy leaned close, whispering, "I'm a fallen angel." Chris didn't move, Jeremy didn't move...the both of them seemed to be frozen for a short period of time before she noticed something in her peripheral vision.
Huge black wings had appeared from nowhere, it couldn't be smoke and mirrors because they looked extremely real. Chris leaned back slowly, still holding onto one of his hands as the other reached out to touch one wing. It moved as if by itself, not by her command. Curiosity killed the cat, or so they say but Chris wasn't a cat...she was a breathing snow-man so to say, so that rule didn't apply. The silence that stretched was growing and she broke it by drawing her hand away from the wing, eyes widening as she said, "That's the most amazing thing I think I've ever seen." She touched it again, hoping that he didn't mind before smiling a big smile and then throwing her arms around his neck for a huge hug.
It might have been an unusual thing to do but she'd never met anyone similar to her at all, and by similar, she meant different than normal people. It made her happy...and not as cold.

They sat in silence for what seemed like a lifetime to Jeremy, but he was a little on the nervous side. Chris reached a tentative hand out, to touch his wing."That's the most amazing thing I think I've ever seen." She said, reacing out to stroke it again. then she burst into the biggest smile Jeremy had ever seen (It reminded him of the Cheshire cat from Alicce in Wonderland) and threw her arms arounf his neck in a small bear hug. Not the reaction he had expected, Jeremy had to catch himself from falling off the bed. He carefully put his arms around her, hugging her gently. Well... That went better than I thought... he thought surprised. "Your not freaked out? Are you ok?" He asked her, pulling back to look her in the eyes. Those bright blue eyes pierced him through and through.

Jeremy tensed at first as he caught his balance from the impact, though after a few seconds he did return the hug just a little bit. Not too much longer than that, she moved back to her spot beside him and looked down at her hands where they rested in her lap. She was looking down to hide the blush that decorated her cheeks; it was from both the combination of surprise, weird happiness, and the thought that she'd just hugged a guy without freezing him to death.
"You're not freaked out? Are you ok?" He asked, and Chris looked up because she could tell he was looking at her...it made her scalp prickle. "That's not freaky...that's insane or amazing. I'm the one to be freaked out about...I'm-" She stopped, frowning as she tried to get the right words. She'd only though them a zillion and one times."I'm the one to be freaked out about...the 'freak'. I don't even know what I am other than that. Feel this," Chris grabbed his hand and moved it to her heart. She knew what he felt...it was nothing.
"Wait for it," She said and didn't let him move his hand, finally her heart gave one beat, a hard thump that echoed and then it was still again. "Once a minute...that's my heartbeat. That's not normal. I think that's one of the reasons I'm so cold...no circulation at all." She had the strange urge to show him everything...everything that she was because she'd never done that before. Nobody knew about all the little things, the big things. They only knew the lies but this person could know, it didn't matter if he did, or at least so she thought. The only down-side would be if she was rejected as the freak she thought herself to be...that would be devastating.

"That's not freaky...that's insane or amazing. I'm the one to be freaked out about...I'm-" Her voice cut off and Jeremy looked at her intensely. "I'm the one to be freaked out about...the 'freak'. I don't even know what I am other than that. Feel this," She said taking his hand placing it over her heart. Or where her heart should have been. BUt therer was nothing. He looked up inot her eyes, sure his face was a mask of concern and curisity. "Wait for it," She said, looking away, and right then, Jeremy felt a dull thump, just one, and all was silent. "Once a minute...that's my heartbeat. That's not normal. I think that's one of the reasons I'm so cold...no circulation at all."
Jeremy pulled his hand away, and smiled, never had he met anyone even remotely close to this girl and he had met a lot of people, both human and non-human. He stood up and took his shirt off, revealing long, welted scars. Some were symbols and some were just there, covering his chest and his back. On his top right shoulder was a tattoo, revealing what he was, who he was to whoever knew how to read it. He turn and showed it to her. "This is what I am." He said quietly, waiting for the running and screaming.

Chris waited, silent and impatient with irrational stress. The heat of the room was rising with tension and her worry was pushing the heat away, replacing it with cold like a draft of winter air. Jeremy didn't look freaked out by how odd she was, really just curious and maybe slightly concerned. She waited, waited for something to be said or to be done and nothing was said.
"Wha-" She felt the word start to form on her lips though there hadn't been any sound, she cut it off when he pulled his hand away and stood up, for no reason in particular she felt sort of scared, having no idea what he--a fallen angel--would do next, could do next. What he did do, did surprise her. Jeremy stood up, crossed his arms to pull his shirt off and Chris took in her breath. "This is what I am."
Chris stood up and sort of hesitantly traced a scar that ran to meet the tattoo on his shoulder..."What is it?" She pointed to the tattoo. It had a meaning, that much was obvious; it sort of radiated a purpose. She just didn't know how to read it.

The look on her face only expressed curiousity, nothing more, nothing less. "What is it?" she asked gently, tracing a scar that ran up to his tattoo. "Its an ancient symbol of the gods. all angels are given one upon birth, each specific to their own story. Mine was given later than usual, because they were unsure exactly what my story was going to be. They never saw exactly where I was going so they had to decide which way to take me. And they got it wrong. Which is why I'm here now." Jeremy sighed and turned back around. "Its the ancient symbol for Death. I am the Angel of Death." He waited nervously for the running and screaming, trying not to show how desperately he wanted her to understand, how much he wanted her to stay.

What he really looked was old and sad...but also young which was what made all of this so confusing. "Its the ancient symbol for Death. I am the Angel of Death." Chris didn't say anything for a moment, not sure what would suffice.
"You...you're not bad though right? Actually I'm positive that you're not...you cant be." She nodded then, sure of that accusation. He couldn't be bad...even if he was an angel for death. He was Jeremy and so far, the Jeremy she knew was nice and caring even. Someone who was bad might have just left Chris out in the street--like when she was little--when she fell, Jeremy though, didn't. "Know what's kind of funny? I think I'm closer to 'death' than you are...I barely have a heartbeat, I'm freezing all the time," She paused, reaching out for Jeremy's hand so that she could pull him down to sit beside her, he didn't have to if he didn't want to. Then she continued, "And the only time I have any color is when I wear bright clothes or lipstick. I'm small, and weak and I can't even keep myself upright when I get upset." She frowned but then half smiled. "You know, if I'm right, we may be relatable. I've never had anyone who was similar to me at all."

Chris sat there silently for a minute. "You...you're not bad though right? Actually I'm positive that you're not...you cant be." She said, nodding as if she were positive of herself. "Know what's kind of funny? I think I'm closer to 'death' than you are...I barely have a heartbeat, I'm freezing all the time," She said, pausing to gab Jeremy's hand and pull him down beside her. He was grateful nad estatic she was okay with all of this. "And the only time I have any color is when I wear bright clothes or lipstick. I'm small, and weak and I can't even keep myself upright when I get upset." She half smiled and Jermey couldn't stop himself from smiling back. Her smile was beautiful, in that contagious way. "You know, if I'm right, we may be relatable. I've never had anyone who was similar to me at all." Chris said, sounding pleased.
In all his life Jeremy had been good at understanding everyone but this girl baffled him to Wonderland and back. She was so much different than anyone he had met in all his years ( which were alot), she was so much better. His mind raced on and on, trying to process and make sense of this senseless situation. "Wait. You're not at all freaked out but the fact that I have wings? The scars? They don't scare you? Besides all that, I'm the Angel of Death and your not at all concerned about any of this?" Jeremy asked, clearly confused and mystified by all that was happening. But at the same time, he was immensely happy.

"Well...no not really." Chris looked up at him, their difference in height was evident here. She didn't want to seem dumb or careless...but she was telling the truth. "It may be stupid of me but I feel comfortable around you, and I'm around dangerous all the time, if thats what you are. I live with dangerous. At least you're nice." She frowned, talking out loud on accident. "My brother, he's sort of trouble. He's into all these weird drugs... I bet he'll drop out of school and get kicked out of the medical program at the university. I don't even know how many times I've been in the car with him when he's been caught 'driving under the influence' and at home hiding in my bedroom with the door locked so that his friends won't try to touch me again. Dangerous isn't new." She shuddered, just thinking about it was hard. One reason she'd been at that club was to get away even if it was only temporary.

"Well...no not really." She said, looking up at him, trust in hidher eyes. "It may be stupid of me but I feel comfortable around you, and I'm around dangerous all the time, if thats what you are. I live with dangerous. At least you're nice." She frowned, almost like she hadn't meant to say that out loud. Dangerous isn't new." A shudder passed through Chris but it didn't register to Jeremy. He had stop thinking, stopped, listening, stopped breathing after she had said, 'hiding in my bedroom with the door locked so that his friends won't try to touch me again.' As soon as what she had said register in his mind, he actually had to restrain himself from demanding to know who they were, so he could strangle everyone who had ever intended this girl harm. "What did you mean when you said, "so his friends won't try to touch me again." How did they touch you before?" Jeremy asked, trying to keep his temper in check but some of the anger slipped into his voice. Whatever they had done, He intended to take care of it how he thought it should be handled, no matter what anyone said. For the first time in his life, Jeremy actually consiered killing someone who was not a demon. For the first time in his life, Jeremy was about to do what he had been created for, Kill humans.
