Chris was sitting there in the last chair before the bar, sipping a virgin Piña colada and feeling extremely bored. Nothing, absolutely nothing could save her from this boredom. There was no one to talk to; at least not when she was sober and Chris never had been one for dancing; or rather she hadn't exactly tried.
Now she was wearing a black dress, it looked good and matched with her shoes. It also contrasted hugely against her stark pale skin and silver blonde hair...the only color was her eyes and a blue stoned necklace that hung around her throat. Yeah, she looked pretty but it still didn't matter. She hadn't gotten so much as a hi from anyone and was contemplating leaving already; leaving early.
Chris still contemplating leaving, and as she did, she put a single finger in the drink and thought 'cold', it froze completely...that was fine though she'd been bored with it anyway.

Jeremy walked into the club, expecting nothing more than lights and loud music. And that was exactly what he saw. at first. He moved around, weaving this way and that through the crowd, dodging the hands grabbing at his jacket. He slipped up to the bar, and looked around. Nothing new was here. There were no marks, telling him he was in the wrong place. Who he need was not now or had ever been here in this club, but as he turned to go, something light and flashing caught his eye. There was a girl sitting at the bar, looking so bored, she practically had it spelled out on her face. She had white-silver hair, and it was beautiful and pale skin. Her black dress made her seem as if she were a ghost and that she was untouchable to everyone. Except me. Jeremy thought, as he walked slowly over to her.

Eventually, she'd had enough. Too much of nobody, too much of nothing and so she got up to leave. Chris didn't have a jacket with her, even though it was cold because she didn't need it. She was far colder than the air outside anyway. Apon getting up, she wasn't paying attention, that is until she bumped right into someone. It was a boy, he was just about as regular as she was. Aka, not.
She knew right away that something was off right away and couldn't help but recoil at the close contact. She could feel their body heat's clash; his was warm, just a little over average and hers was fridgid. After a moment, she collected herself and almost felt bad for the way she'd acted. She'd probably seemed replused when in all reality she'd been waiting to be noticed all night. So as a smile crept up onto her lips, she tucked a strand of white hair behind one ear, held out one dainty hand and said, "Well...hello there. I'm Chris."

Just as Jeremy walked up she slid of her stool and bumped right into him. She was freezing but surprisingly enough, it didn't bother him. She looked him over, smiled and held out a small, delicate hand. "Well...hello there. I'm Chris." she said, her voice quiet, but despite all the noise, he could hear her perfectly. He took her hand gently, as if it would break with the slightest pressure and raised it to his lips. "I'm Jeremy. It's noice to meet you Chris." Jeremy said, holding her hand lonnger than necessary. He smiled at her and held his arm out. "May I escort you to wherever it is your going?" He asked, his lower voice, portraying complete innocence.

This guy, the one who had 'startled' her took her hand and surprised her by kissing it, it'd been meant to shake hands but really, that worked too. He was also careful; he acted like she was made of glass and Chris didn't know to be offended by it or to be charmed by the gesture. She opted more for the second, but tried to keep her expression somewhere along the lines of neutral.
How they were interacting, how formally the both of them were talking was a contradiction to this entire place; all around them people were grinding and acting crazy and rude from alcohol. "I'm Jeremy, it's nice to meet you, Chris." He hadn't let go of her hand...she had the strange sensation of melting; her hand felt on fire but she wasn't going to be the one to let go first.
"That's pretty nice of you," She said to his offer, not sure that he was one to trust. This looked like a facade and a carefully built one at that. "How'd you know I was leaving?" She was half teasing as she stood there, wearing a smile.

"how'd you know I was leaving?" She asked, obviously teasing. "Well, first you stood up, you turned toward the door, and I'm just good like that." Jeremy answeredd, smiling at her silliness. She took his arm and they walked out of the club, completely oblivious to everything around them. There was something about her that was off, something that poked at Jeremy but he pushed it aside. There wazs only here, only now. Only her.

"Well, first you stood up, you turned toward the door and I'm just good like that." He smiled at her with a goofy grin....one that made her smile back just because it was catchy. As they walked out the door and outside, things seemed strange for a minute; off. The sun was setting and that was normal, but there seemed to be more people than usual that were out and about.
Every single one of them seemed to be staring and watching; maybe judging Chris for walking out of that place with this guy, the one she'd just met even though it was against her better judgment. And yet, she still didn't care. Though the strange paranoia didn't really subside. Her worries inevitably made the wind pick up and she shivered, cold as ever. "So," Chris drew out a shaky breath and finally pulled her hand away...for some reason it too was shaking.

Chris drew a shaky breath and drew her hand awa. Jeremy noticed, with a slight nudge of undeserved pride that it was most likely because of him. She shivered as the chilly wind picked up. "So.." She said, looking around, everywhere else but at him. "Here." JEremy said, shrugging out of his jacket and draping it over her shoulders. The cold didn't bother him, wioth him being an angel and all. His white long sleeved shirt stood out int the dark night, kind of like a beacon. He noticed a tall, thin man following them. Jeremy remembered seeing him outside the club before he had entered. Not wanting to alarm Chris, he stayed alert but did not give away anything. "Hey. Hey! We have business, pretty boy!" The man yelled and Jeremy swore under his breath, (not very angel like). He whirled around to face this stranger, pushing Chris behind him.

"Here," Jeremy's voice was the first thing she'd heard in a while other than the cars that drove by, and because of it, she jumped. It seemed as if the the confidence had faded away with the lights and sound. "Thanks," Chris said, looking up to smile at him. She knew that the jacket wouldn't do any good...she'd be just as cold as she was before but she accepted just to be nice
"Hey. Hey! We have business, pretty boy!" A deep bass voice thudded from a distance behind them and inevitably made Chris flinch even bigger than before. The wind picked up hugely in that one moment and blew with huge force; it didn't stop either until she steadied herself by holding onto Jeremy's arm. "Sorry...I'm kind of jumpy sometimes. Who-" She started but quit when Jeremy pushed her back to stand behind him. She continued her sentence in a whisper, "Who's he?" Now she was scared. The wind continued to whip harder and faster as her heartbeat did.

"Who's he?' Chris whispered, the wind suddenly picking up. It blew Jeremy's hair in his face but he still didn't move. "I was just looking for you, Haertzic. We do have business." Jeremy said, his voice as cold and as sharp as ice. "Well, then why don't we get this party started?" Haertzic said, a wicked smirk on his face. His deep gravely voice just rubbed Jeremy the wrong way. "Tsk, tsk, Haertzic. Can't you see that a lady is present? It would be rude to continue our discussion in front of her, don't you think?" Jeremy said, pulling Chris closer to his body. He could feel how cold she was through the thin material of his shirt. "Well, since I was raised in a more gentlemanly manner than most, I would have to agree." And with that he turned and strode away.

Chris absolutely didn't know what was going on...she'd grown up a fairly sheltered girl. Almost homeless, yeah and even extremely unusual but she hadn't ever been in a confrontation. Yet again, she wondered if this Jeremy guy was safe to be around. People alway said, 'follow your gut' and that's what she'd done...surely he couldn't be too bad. But as for the other guy...he was bad. That much was obvious. If not, he was at least really angry or he wanted something.
From what she understood, they had something to settle, or to plan out and neither of them wanted her to hear it. When Jeremy pulled her closer, Chris only struggled to get back out of the way; she wasn't scared. This guy couldn't possibly be bad enough to hurt her...she did--after all--have resources.
The other guy was leaving...Haertzic is what Jeremy had called him. She had no idea what that meant or if it even was a name. The strangest part of it all was that though she should be feeling fear, the only feeling that accompanied a new surge of adrenaline was curiosity and annoyance at being kept out of what was going on.
Finally, the guy was gone and she couldn't help but let a thread of anger trickle into her tone when she said, "What the hell just happened?" She raised an eyebrow and the wind began to die down; however she was still cold. She was always cold and she didn't care.

Chris slipped back after Haertzic had disappeared from veiw. "What the hell just happened?" She asked, sounding angry. Jeremy felt a surge of guilt and remorse. He rocked back and forth on his heels, not meeting her gaze. "Well...Umm... He kinda wants to kill me, cause i have something of his. But I can't give it back or Some very bad things will happen?" He said, trying not to let too much slip.
One thing about being a fallen angel was it was hard to have relationships of any kind because of all the secrets no mortal can know. Jeremy usually avoid this kind of thing by spending his time alone. But there was just something Magnetic About this girl, something that compleeled him to spend time with her. And though it was weird, he liked her already. True he had only met her, like 10 minutes ago, but he still had the strange urge to protect her, to shield her from what ever would come her way. It was irrational and stupid, yet he couldn't help himself. There was just something about her that made her... Irresistable. "Umm... I'm sorry?" He said, looking like a little boy, caught by his mother doing something he wasn't supposed to be doing.

Chris's adrenaline was still pumping from the weird situation that had just happened,, and also from the strain she was put through when her emotions channeled the weather; it took the energy right out of her for a long tim; she could already feel herself slipping out of control and knew, that she would have to work on making her stamina higher.
"Well. . . Um. . .He kinda wants to kill me, cause I have something of his, but I can't give it back or some very bad things will happen." She was surprised that he tried to explain it...and she swayed just a bit as she felt light headed. "What kind of bad things?" Weirdly enough the thought of somebody doing 'bad things' to Jeremy struck her as awful...but she didn't really know him which was why it was weird.
Seeing Jeremy's face just then, he looked guilty and that of course made her feel guilty too. Chris shook her head, resisting the way that gravity seemed ten times heavier at the moment. Jeremy looked like a little kid caught doing something wrong...but he hadn't really. He'd tried to protect Chris when whats-his-name was around...Another bout of light headedness brought Chris to stagger forward towards Jeremy and she tried to disguise it as a hug, which felt nice because he was so warm.
As if from a distance, Chris could hear Jeremy talking, he said something about being sorry. "No, I'm sorry for being nosy...I guess I was just concerned. "Just let me sit down for a minute, kay?" She looked at Jeremy then, knowing that her legs would probably give out any moment now...and they did.
The stupid wind...she wished it wouldn't put her out so much. The drop to the cement wasn't even very far but still, it would hurt if she was to land wrong.

Chris looked exhausted. She staggered forward and hugged him. She was freezing; it was like ice burning his skin but it was pleasant. Like it hurt but was wonderful at the same time. He apologized again and she said, "No, I'm sorry I was being nosy.. I'm just concerned I guess. Just let me sit down for a second okay?" She smiled up at him and her knees gave away and she started to slide to toward the concrete. Jeremy quickly pulled her up into his arms, hoping she wasn't hurt or unconscience. "Chris? Chris, are you alright? Can you hear me?" He whispered into her ear, holding her closely, feeling guilty for putting her in this situation. I am a jerk. No wonder I fell... he thought to himself as he waited eagarly for a reply... or nothing at all.

A slow smile snuck up onto her face and she closed her eyes. She had braced somehow, for impact even as she was loosing control but she didn't have to; something prevented her from hitting the ground and in some corner of her mind, Chris knew that she should thank whoever had helped her.
That part was too far off though and at the moment all she wanted to do was get warm. It had always been an impossible task but somehow, something was warm and she shifted, trying to be even closer to it. In her mind's eye, Chris could picture steam coming off of her body from whatever it was that caused the heat.
Something tickled in her ear, someone was saying something but that didn't matter. What mattered was that for the first time in ten years, she wasn't frozen. That was what mattered. The rest could wait.
