The doors leading to the Vertigo felt heavier than normal. Maybe it was the lack of sleep Landon had been getting lately. Though, it wasn't his fault. Ilieana always had her favorite band 'Thousand Foot Krutch' blasting out of her ihome in her room late and night and Ally always woke up late because of nightmares. Ilieana always had music playing, late at night too. It wasn't that Landon didn't like the music, but she always had it playing at like 1 o clock in the morning and mom and dad didn't hear it because their room was on the other side of the condo whereas Landon's was the room next door.
Having siblings isn't all its cracked up to be. Though Ally and Ilieana meant the world to him he wished he could have a few days to himself. He could tell Ilieana to turn her music down, but then she would come up with some random excuse. And Ally, there wasn't much you could do with her. She was only 4 years old and she had nightmares from time to time that wake up her frequently.
Landon took a deep breath and then squinted at the bright lights coming from the dance room in Vertigo. He wasn't sure why he was here per say, all he knew was that he didn't want to sit at home because the moment he would try to take a nap, something would happen to where he would have to wake up. 'Yawn' He covered his mouth immediately. He didn't know why you were supposed to cover your mouth when you yawned. It wasn't like you were sneezing or anything but he had always learned that it was more polite to do that.
He looked at all the people on the dance floor having loads of fun. He knew that on any other day, if he was with a friend, or family member he would be out there having as much fun as anyone else. He loved to have fun and express himself. He wasn't one to live life in a shell. He wasn't afraid of embarrassment and didn't care what people thought of him, but right now his body just wasn't fully up for any type of dancing movement.
He walked over the bar and sat down at one of the stools. There were a few people drunk but nothing that couldn't be controlled because of it being a place where younger people were also allowed in. Smoking wasn't allowed which was a good thing because it's not a good habit to begin with. Landon ordered a sprite from the bar guy which looked around his middle or upper twenties. After about 3 minutes the guy gave Landon his sprite and Landon did a little spin in his stool to face the dance floor. He would definitely been out there in half a second if he wasn't already fighting the urge to sleep.
