Jazmine shook her head when Carter asked her if she was cold and wanted to go inside. “No, no. I’m fine. I don’t want to go in right now unless you want to,” she replied to Carter with a small smile. Jazmine looked at Carter and noticed that he was being hesitant as well as biting his lip. ’Uh oh, that can’t be good,’ Jazmine thought with a sigh. She listened as Carter said that him and Jinx weren’t really at the best of odds right now, but that Jinx still gives him a ride to school. Jazmine sighed and shook her head out of disagreement when he said it was fine. ’No, it certainly isn’t fine. It’s far from it,’ she thought with a frown forming on her face.
Jazmine lifted her non broken hand and brought it to Carter’s chin where she made his face turn to face her. “No, Carter, it isn’t fine. I messed up your sixteen year old friendship; a girl who has barely been in your life. That makes me feel awful, truly awful. I as well got a broken hand out of this mess, but that’s beside the point. I never wanted this to happen; I just wish I could go back to that night and fix it. But I can’t,” Jazmine explained to Carter with worry written all over her face.
Jazmine made her way from Carter’s side to moving over to the other side of the hot tub to where she could sit and look at him while she was talking. She sat for a minute to think, ’Their friendship cannot be ruined because of what happened. Something has to be able to fix it.’ She walked forward a bit to where she was sitting at the edge of the little seat. “Carter, if you and Jinx aren’t at the best of odds right now, I can start taking you to school. That’s no big deal to me because I would love to. I know Jinx doesn’t like me that well, and I understand that. But there has to be a way that we can fix this; that I can fix this. I know I need to talk to…Jinx even if I don’t want to. But the first way to solve a problem is to face the problem, and that’s what I’m going to do,” Jazz explained to Carter somewhat running out of breath.
After saying all of that, Jazmine could see in Carter’s eyes that he wouldn’t be to fond of Jinx talking with her; Jazzy herself wouldn’t be too fond with talking with Jinx. Jazz grabbed Carter’s hand and squeezed it for reassurance. She pulled herself unto his lap once more as well as moving some loose hair out of his eyes. She leaned in to give Carter a kiss and pulled back with a small smile on her face. She wanted to tell him that it would all work out, but she wasn’t 100% positive that it would work out.

"Is your hand feeling any better?" He asked after a moment of being lost in thought. He gently grasped onto her hurt hand, barley holding it at all, just in case. Before she could answer, he brought it up to his mouth and kissed it once, like a gentleman would, then lowered it to the water between them were he held it loosely still.
After a moment, Jazzy moved over to the space across from Carter, looking at him as she expressed how much she wanted to go back and fix the situation. It was a sweet thought but nobody can go back in time...so it was kind of pointless to think about. "Well..I don't know what to do about it...so it is what it is." Carter twisted his mouth to the side, staring at the water in front of him sullenly. Then, with a deep breath, he went under the hot water and just stayed there for a few seconds, just holding his breath. When his oxygen supply had run to an end, Carter went back up coughing slightly. "Okay." He said.
"I might take you up on that sometime...riding with him to school gets awkward when nobody talks. It's really awkward when we DO talk...so yeah. Alright." He smiled slightly, and flicked the hair away from his blue eyes.
"And...are you sure? I don't...care if you talk to Jinx. It's not really any of my business...but...I dunno." Carter looked to the side, remembering the last time Jinx and Jazzy had been together. It wasn't that he didn't trust them together, though a part of him really didn't. He wasn't up for a repeat. lalalalaaa

Jazmine nodded a bit when Carter asked if her hand was feeling any better. "Oh, it still hurts a bit when I bend it, but other than that no. It's still a little bit sprained, but it's better than a couple weeks ago," she said with a small smile on her face. Jazz noticed how Carter gently grabbed it and barely held it. He kissed it softly which made her smile as well as putting it back under the water where he continued to loosely hold it.
Once Carter returned to the surface, Jazzy began to talk. "Okay, I wouldn't mind that at all. It'd be fun." Jazmine began thinking about how it would be for Carter to..move in. 'I wonder how shocked he would be if I asked. It's too soon, but he's always welcomed to stay here. I wonder if he knows that..' she thought with a concentrating look on her face. "And, Carter, if y-you ever need a place to....you know....stay awhile, you are always welcomed here..," Jazzy told Carter nervously as well as smiling a nervous smile.
Jazmine carefully listened to Carter, and how he explained that she didn't have to talk to Jinx as well as saying that it wasn't any of his business. 'I agree, it really isn't, but I'm glad that he is concerning, she thought. "I-I know that I don't have to, but it's just something that I want to do. I know it'll make you uncomfortable, and if you wanted to, you can be in the room with us. I wouldn't mind that at all," she said with a small smile on her face. It would actually make Jazz feel a whole lot better.
After saying all of that, Jazmine got up from Carter's lap and walked around to stretch her legs. She sighed and looked at Carter. "You wanna go inside? I'm kinda gettin' hungry. We could shower, then eat. And Jinx could come over so we could get that over with, or we can do it some other time. Whatever you wanna do." After saying all that, Jazmine sat back down beside Carter and waited for him to respond.

"Glad it's better." He commented sweetly and stood up from his place in the warm, warm water. The cold air that met Carter's heated skin instantly made him shiver. Ripples of goosebumps traveled up his arms and made the tip of his nose a bit rosy. "I didn't realize it was so chilly out here..." He said with a short laugh and hurried to get out. "And the same goes to you, though I don't see why you'd ever want to stay at my place for any length of time." Carter grabbed onto Jazzy's non-hurt hand and gave it a squeeze to show how he appreciated her offer. With that, they both started off their short trek back to the warm insides of Jazzy's house. "Well...I just don't want anything else to go wrong, you know? It's not that I don't trust you...I just," he was struggling to come up with the right words. He didn't want to offend Jazzy or speak badly of Jinx. Contrary to popular belief, Jinx wasn't a terrible guy - he was a great friend. "I do trust you, so I don't have to be there. If you don't need me or want me there when you talk to him then I can distance." He wanted to be nearby though.
"Wait...you want to do this tonight?" Carter stopped and sent Jazzy a sideways glance. His eyes were kind of big, a little nervous. Was he as ready for this as he'd thought? lalalalaaa

When Carter said that he didn’t realize that it was so chilly outside, Jazmine couldn’t agree more. Before replying, she listened to Carter explain how she could stay over at his place whenever she needed, but he wouldn’t recommend it. She giggled a bit and said, “Oh, I’m sure your house is fine. Maybe being in a smaller house once in awhile would be more comforting.” After saying that, they both made their way out of the hot tub as well as grabbing the towels that were setting on the table. After wrapping the towel around Jazmine’s body, she turned off the hot tub and pulled the cover over it. After that, they both made their way inside.
“Yes, I know that you trust me. But, it would make me feel a whole lot more comfortable with you being in the room,” she explained to Carter with a warm smile on her face. “I, uh…only if you want to. I wouldn’t mind waiting a couple of days..,” she said while thinking, ‘or a couple of weeks.’
Jazmine noticed her keys were sitting on her kitchen counter. She made her way over there as well as beginning to say, “Why don’t we talk about this after we shower. Here are my car keys in case you need to go to your house to get some clean clothes. You’ll probably be finished before I will; I take forever.” She laughed a bit and handed the keys to Carter. After that, she smiled and gave him a soft kiss on the cheek as well as making her way upstairs.
Halfway up the stairs, Jazz stopped and turned to face Carter. “Oh, and if you do go to your house, go through my garage and close it when you leave. It’ll make me feel better knowing that it’s closed. I can’t remember if I closed it or not earlier,” she said with a half smile forming on her face. Once again, she began making her way to her room and bathroom to go take a shower. “I really don’t know if I am ready to face Jinx..,” she muttered to herself once she got into her room.

"Maybe so," Carter shrugged. He thought about that as Jazzy put the hot tub back to the way it was supposed to be. He'd help but had no idea how the thing worked, plus he thought he would get in the way~ Jazzy looked like she knew what she was doing anyway. "Alright," He smiled to Jazzy's wanting him to be there. It was gonna be awkward but at least they could get it over with together. "And yeah...I'm good with that. Waiting..." He was always good for waiting when it came to something like this. Bleh.
"Okay," Was all Carter said, still standing there after Jazzy had disappeared up the stairs. Holy freak! She gave him the keys to her car...he'd really been wanting to drive it lately. As he walked towards the door leading to the garage, he was nearly bouncing up and down with excitement, a huge grin stretched across his face like an idiot. A happy idiot with his girl back. _____ Carter yelped as a bit of soap got into his eyes and didn't waste time getting it out. Even afterwards, it was burning and left his blue irises ringed with red. He'd only been in the shower for about six minutes but already, the low-pressure water was running cold. He sighed, feeling clean and refreshed, even if the water only made him shiver harder. He was very pleased to wrap a warm towel around his waist and head back to his bedroom for some clothes.
Back in his room, Carter went dug through his dresser--he didn't have a closet--until he found a soft green T-shirt with a faded logo, plaid blue boxers and a pair of loose and comfy jeans. He pulled them all on, ran a comb though his unruly hair and sprayed on some cologne just because. He liked smelling good.(:
On the way back down the stairs, he heard his mom shuffling around in the kitchen. The sound of glass shattering made him flinch but he continued on anyway. The scene awaiting him in the kitchen was a normal one...his mom had dropped a wine glass and it'd shattered. Her eyes were red too but it wasn't from shampoo, he was sure.
"And were are you sneaking off to so late? It's a school night...a-and this place is a mess." She swung around to face him, hands on her hips and stance a bit wobbly. As usual, she'd had just enough to drink that she'd be out any minute.
"I'm going to my friends house and it isn't a school night, mom. Its Friday," He sighed. The place was a mess though, he'd cleaned it before work that day. She'd made this mess all on her own. "Bye ma'," He said, and slipped out the back door. He smiled to see Jazzy's shiny car waiting for him. It made him think of her waiting back at her house.
He pulled the car out and drove the quickest he could without breaking laws. Carter also went the short way, a short cut he'd found driving back home. ______ "Honey, I'm home," His voice hadn't been terribly loud but it echoed though the large tiled space anyway. He set his small duffel bag by the door and closed it. The bag held a toothbrush, one more change of clothes and other miscellaneous things he might need, depending on if Jazzy would want him to go home or stay. Just in case~
His stomach gurgled loudly, then, as it reminded him that he hadn't had anything to eat since breakfast. He didn't see Jazzy anywhere near so she was probably still upstairs. He went to the kitchen then and opened the fridge...thinkign about making something for the both of them. loong. : )

The very warm, warm water that spewed from the shower head felt amazing on her body. After being in the hot tub for so long, it made her skin feel..very chloriney, and Jazmine hated that feeling. She tried to take a shower as fast as she could so she wouldn't keep Carter waiting, but she knew that wasn't going to happen.
Fifteen minutes had passed, and Jazmine was finally getting out of the shower. After she dried off her body, she put on her soft, red robe as well as wrapping the towel around her head so her hair could dry a little bit faster. She went into her room and found a pair of black Nike sweats, black Nike socks, a gray sports bra, rainbow colored underwear, and a plain v-neck gray tee. She grabbed all of the clothes and made her way back to the bathroom.
There, she shedded the robe and put on some lotion and deodorant as well as getting dressed. Once she was dressed, she plugged in her blow dryer and removed the towel from her head. Ten minutes had passed, and Jazzy's hair was dried, but a frizzy mess. She placed her blow dryer to the side and plugged in her straightener as well as putting some anti-frizz gel in her hair. While waiting for her straightener to heat up, she decided to put on some makeup. "I can re-wash my face later," she muttered as she grabbed her makeup bag.
Finally, Jazz's straightener was hot and her makeup was perfect. Before Jazz started straightening her hair, she heard a "Honey, I'm home," coming from downstairs. "Hey! I'll be down in a minute!" Jazz shouted as loud as she could.
Well, that minute turned into fifteen minutes. She turned off her straighter and unplugged it as well as spraying on some body spray. She grabbed all of her dirty clothes and made her way out of her bathroom. She went downstairs and put her dirty clothes in the laundry room. After that, she made her way into the living room to find Carter looking for something to eat in the kitchen. "Hey," she simply said as well as giving him a kiss. "Sorry it took me forever! And, I feel under dressed compared to you," she said giving him a smile. "Instead of cooking, you wanna order something? It'll be an easy clean-up," Jazz suggested. She made her way to the fridge and grabbed two bottles of water. She tossed one to Carter and said, "Whatever you wanna do, I'm fine with." She opened her water and took a drink out of it which was followed by an, "ahh".
occ;; hope this works. i notice i use the preposition 'as well as' a lot. (:

Carter surveyed the insides of Jazmine's fridge with dismay. She didn't have a lot of the things he needed for what he'd wanted to do. He was sort of determined to make something for her~ after all, how many times did she have a home-cooked meal that wasn't made by her, herself. Probably not huge. By the time that Jazzy finally got downstairs, Carter had decided that her fridge stock was way to limited for him to make anything extraordinary. So with that in mind, he decided that they needed to go on a grocery run together sometime very soon.
When his girl finally got downstairs, he smiled a big goofy Carter grin. She said, "Sorry I took forever! And, I feel under-dressed compared to you.." But he thought she looked really beautiful. So he told her that. "Psh you're fine. And I think you look gorgeous. (As always,)" He pulled her into a hug then, letting his lips press softly to her forehead. "Ordering something sounds fantastic, actually. I was gonna surprise you and make something just totally awesome." He winked but then said, "By the way...what is your favorite food?" That was a must know for Carter. Sometime, he'd show her his house with a clean kitchen...preferably on a night that his mommy wasn't home. And that got him thinking...
"You know what's weird?" Carter asked, and scratched the back of his head. He'd styled his hair so it feel just right across his forehead, but he flicked it aside to see Jazzy better. "I've been over here a million times but I don't think you even know where I live." Carter let his free hands find Jazzy's and he held one of them loosely, for some reason he felt against the idea of letting go. He was in one of those clingy moods. "Do you?" He was curious.
ooc;; i think they need to go see a movie sometime and then he could bring her to his house and 'cook up something fantastic' for her ; )

Jazz couldn't help but smile when Carter said that she looked gorgeous. He pulled her in for a hug as well as laying a soft kiss upon her forehead. "Okay, cool. I'll go get the phone book, and we can scan through it. And, sorry. I haven't been to the grocery store in about...a week to ten days. I've been too lazy," she replied to him with a smile. As she was beginning to walk away, Jazz remembered that he asked her what her favorite food was. "Oh, and my favorite food would definitely have to be lasagna."
Jazz keeps her phone book upstairs in her room because that's where she usually spends most of the day. On her way back downstairs, she heard Carter ask if she knew where he lived. "Uh, well, I took you home after the...uh...dance, but I've forgotten the address by now since it was dark out. I kinda have a bad memory. And don't be too flattered. Behind all the fanciness, this is a house of horrors," she explained as well as muttering the last few sentences even though it was the truth.
With the phone book in Jazmine's hand, she made her way to the kitchen. She pulled out a chair and set the phone book on the counter. "Hmm..what are you in the mood for? I'm up for anything; I'm THAT starving," Jazz said with a giggle. She pulled out the chair that was next to her and patted the seat which motioned that she wanted Carter to come sit by her.
occ;; yeah, that's a good idea! (: sorry so short. :/

"Good to know," He said quietly as Jazzy went upstairs to get the phone book. Carter could make lasagna sometime...it was very do-able. He really didn't' care what kind of food they had as long as it was food...he was that hungry. Maybe today had just been a long day (it really had). Carter leaned against the kitchen counter to wait for her, wondering what she meant by saying that this was a house of horrors. He wondered if it would be okay to ask...
When Jazmine came back with the book, they both settled over it to try and decide. "Me too," He laughed when she explained how hungry she was. "Hungry enough to eat a horse," he stuck his tongue out; feeling silly. "There's Chinese, or pizza...or I dunno." He was always horribly indecisive and had never actually been a huge fan of Chinese food. He'd eat it though, if it was what Jazzy wanted. "What time is it?" words; 215 :( ooc; mines even shorter! : P i thought it was funny that we both had something similar on how hungry they were. i had no idea you put something like that when i replied. xD

Jazz couldn’t help but laugh when Carter said he was hungry enough to eat a horse. “Yeah, I haven’t eaten since this morning, and I only had an apple,” she replied as she was skimming through the pphone book. “Yeah, pizza actually sounds really good,” she said to Carter with a smile. “Um, it is…almost six. Why?” Jazz asked a little curiously. “Well, does a large pepperoni pizza sound all right to you?” she asked with a small smile. When she saw Carter nod his head, she closed the phonebook and grabbed her cell phone.
“Uh, hi, yes I would like to place an order to be picked up. The name’s Jazmine Hendrix. I would like a large, thin and crispy pepperoni pizza. Yes, that will be all. Fifteen minutes? Okay, sounds good, thanks, bye.” Jazmine hung up the phone and laid it on the counter. “Would you mind going and getting it in about ten minutes?” she asked Carter, which was followed by a nod from him. She smiled and grabbed the phone book as well as heading up the stairs.
As Jazmine was heading back down the stairs, she was wondering if Carter was going to be able to stay over. Once she got downstairs, she noticed Carter was sitting on the couch. Jazz joined him by jumping over the couch which surprised him. She giggled and kissed his cheek lightly. “So, babe, are you gonna be able to stay over tonight?” she asked with a smile. Jazz interlocked their hands and waited for his answer as well as waiting for fifteen minutes to pass.

Carter looked at his watch and heaved a sigh, feeling like time was moving backwards. Jazzy had gone upstairs not long before and he'd moved to the couch because it was hella comfy. Much better than the threadbare thing he had at home. How on earth was he ever going to last the fifteen minutes it took to get the pizza? Just before he moved to check the sluggish time again, a weight knocked against his side, tipping him sideways. Because he was so surprised, Carter let out a small gasp of breath. He let it out when he realized it was just Jazzy...then he smiled. "Holy crap." Carter laughed, "You scared me!" She kissed him on the cheek then asked if he could spend the night. "Well, there's no reason I can't. Nobody's gonna care if I don't show up at home. "Only if you want me to, though. I don't wanna intrude or anything." Carter glanced over at Jazzy, biting his lip lightly and hoping he wasn't being a terrible dork. That's what Jinx always called him. A dork. And in turn, Carter would call him a freak. Good times.

Jazmine's face had lit up when Carter said that he could stay over. She smiled and hugged him as well as saying, "Yay, that's great!" She pulled back out of the hug, and that's when her excitement had fallen. What Carter said about no one caring if he'd come home or not was just going round and round through her head as well as her stomach tightening. 'How could someone not care if he didn't show up at home? I'd be devastated if my child didn't come home that night,' Jazz thought with a frown forming. She couldn't speak; she was speechless.
Finally, Jazz finally found the words that she was looking for. "Carter, what do you mean no one would care if you didn't show up at home? Are Jinx and I the only ones that actually care for you?" Jazmine said as well as turning her direction to where she could face him. She grabbed his hands and squeezed them. She really hoped not because if Jinx and herself were the only ones...then that's really depressing.
Jazz was about to say something else, but the words escaped her mind as she looked at the clock. She sniffled and let go of his hands to grab her keys off the coffee table. "You better go get the pizza." she said quietly as she pulled a twenty from her pocket. Jazz handed Carter the money and her keys. Jazmine grabbed Carter's hand and walked him to the garage door. "See you when you get back," she said as she kissed him. Jazz sighed as she closed the door behind Carter and headed back towards the kitchen.

"Yeah but...it's not a big deal. Just life, right?" Carter made a face but then just kissed Jazzy on the cheek. "Kay~ I'll be back soon. Bye Jazz."
Having lived there for most of his life, it really y wasn't hard to find the pizza place. He drove up to the window, gaining interested looks from passerby's and customers; he was young, good looking and driving one hell of a car. He only wished that it was more of a real life thing. Carter kind of felt like the real-life (male) version of Cinderella. He was just waiting for the awesomeness to fall away and leave him with shreds if reality.
On the way back home--to Jazzy's home--he was attacked by the delicious smells of pizza. Honestly, he couldn't get back fast enough.

Once Jazmine heard the garage door shut, she got up from the couch and headed for the kitchen. She was planning on getting some paper plates out, but her mind was way too distracted. Quickly, she set two paper plates on the table along with some napkins and ranch. "I feel like I'm forgetting something...," she muttered. "Oh, yeah, Parmesan cheese." Jazz opened her fridge and grabbed the chunk of cheese as well as grabbing her grater. She grated a bowl full, and then quickly cleaned up her mess. Once she was finished, she turned on her oven on low so the pizza would stay warm.
Since everything was ready, Jazz sat down on her counter as well as crossing her legs. She wasn't near any of the food, so the counter wouldn't be dirty. Jazz began to think, she wasn't all that different from Carter. Sure, she had nicer things, but she didn't care about how much money he had. But, they didn't have anyone really to care for them before they came into each others lives. However, there was one difference: Carter had Jinx while Jazmine had...no one. But, that was their only difference. So, she felt that pain, but when Carter stepped into her life, it just...disappeared.
Jazmine didn't even hear Carter come in with the pizza because she was too distracted still. There Carter was with the pizza in his hand, looking at his girl that loved him--he didn't know that, yet--sitting on a counter with her legs crossed as well as her hands up to her mouth just...deep in thought. Jazmine finally snapped out and said surprisingly, "Carter! You're back already! That was quick." She smiled and hopped down from the counter as well as grabbing the pizza from him. Jazz opened it and put two slices on her plate as well as sprinkling some Parmesan cheese on them. She grabbed her water, her plate, and a napkin and smiled, "Get some pizza and put the box in the oven so it won't get cold. Then, head upstairs. I have something to show you." After that, Jazz started to make her way upstairs.
occ; oh, it's okay. (:
