Carter, Carter, Carter - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Williams. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Take me above your light, Carry me through the night. Hold me secure in flight, sing me to sleep tonight. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - 9:00 Am. Carter's scratched up wristwatch said the time in faded black numbers. He wasn't sure how the numbers of a clock could fade if under the glass cover, but whatever. It was a piece of crap anyway. The main point of his excitement, so to say, was that he got out of work at 9. It was kind of a weird schedule that he had going, but whatever.
These days, his mom had been even loopier and had been lacking in the bill-paying department, if you catch the drift. So, to compensate and keep up her Booze-Supply, he'd picked up a few more extra jobs. This particular one started at four AM and went to 7AM on school days& 9AM on weekends and breaks. This was a weekend, and Christmas break.
What was he going to do today? Well...first off, he planned on showering the grease out of his hair. But he'd also been meaning to talk to Jazzy lately. She'd been on his mind a whole lot more than he would like to allow. But...he thought he was over everything that had happened, maybe. And they'd never get anywhere if they never talked right? Right...
He continued to walk back home--the back way--Jazzy on his mind.

It's been one week and five days since Jazmine Rayne kissed Carter's best friend, Jinx Stupid Jones. Actually, Stupid should be Jazmine Rayne's middle name if you asked her. Jazmine was in bed at the moment. Once her clock read nine o'clock sharp, it started ringing because of the alarm she had set. She sloppily hit the off button and groaned because she didn't want to get out of bed. There was no point really. She had no friends, no where close to having a boyfriend, and no family. All she had was her Yorkie puppy, Scruffy, whom she's had for about a year now.
As Jazmine let out another groan, she threw off the covers and got out of bed. She scratched her head as she made her way to the kitchen only to get herself some orange juice; she would have gotten something to eat, but she didn't have an appetite. Actually, since the whole mishap at the dance, Jazmine hasn't really had an appetite. She wasn't going anorexic or anything, but she simply wasn't that hungry all the time anymore. She set the empty glass in the sink once she was finished and headed back upstairs to the bathroom. There, she brushed her teeth and washed her face as well as combing her hair. After she had combed her hair, which was dark brown with some blond in it, she had put it in a side ponytail with her bangs let loose only to get in her eyes about every five minutes.
Even though she knew she wasn't going anywhere today, she still put on a little makeup. After that, she went back to her bedroom and quickly made her bed. "Hmm, I want to go in my hot tub for a little while. Maybe it'll help with the stress I'm having," she said to herself. Once she was finished making her bed, she went downstairs. She went out her side door and let out Scruffy as well so she could use the bathroom as Jazmine turned on her hot tub as well as taking off the cover. She and Scruffy went back inside, and Jazmine went to her hall closet to grab a towel and her black and white polka-dotted swimsuit.
After she got her swimsuit, she went back upstairs to quickly change. She folded her clothes and placed them neatly on her bed. Then, she put on some flip flops and grabbed her phone as well as her iHome and iPod Touch so she could listen to some music. For the last time in awhile, she made her way back downstairs, but before she went outside she made sure every door was locked. Once she was finished, she went out the side door once more. She set up her iHome on a table by the hot tub as well as setting her phone on the table. The first song she chose was "What If," by Jason Derulo, which was her favorite song. She placed her towel on the table as well and made her way up the little steps to the hot tub. "Ah, now this feels nice," she mumbled to herself as she got in. She spreaded out her arms as far as they could reach and leaned her head back and let her eyes close. Once her eyes closed, she began humming to the music and thinking about Carter, which she has been doing a lot of lately.

"Ughh it's cold outside," Carter said grumpily to no one in particular. He really, really, really needed to buy a car. He was really close too: his funds were growing and growing thanks to his many new jobs. As it was, Remy's Garage was closer to the Old abandoned tracks than his house...and seeing those tracks reminded him of a really nice day he'd spent there not terribly long ago. Maybe a couple months. Three at most~ He could recall the day when he'd fallen asleep, only to wake up to a temperamental red-head with lively eyes and an attitude to mach. Jazzy. Dang. See? There he went; thinking about her again. And that was it; the last straw. He pulled out a newly acquired cell phone--it was only a crappy flip phone (the cheapest)--and dialed a number he'd only dialed and hung up a million times. Riiinngggg, riiiinggg . . .rinnggg. Nobody picked up. But he still left a message anyway. "Jazzy...it's Carter." He paused and watched his breath make clouds as he thought of what to say. "I....I'd like to talk to you, if that'd be okay." Carter wondered if she still even cared about what had gone down between them and his freak of a best friend. Him and Jinx were still friends. But Him and Jazzy? Well he just wasn't too sure. "Would you meet me at the old tracks? It's where we met." He smiled at the memory. Surely she remembered that, right? He added it in--unsurely--anyway. "I'll be there--" And then the message ran out. that was okay...he didn't have any more to say anyway. He'd just...go there and wait for her. It didn't' matter that it was cold and he only had a thin jacket, high tops and jeans/T-shirt. He was still freezing..but he'd wait anyways. The only flaw to his plan was that he didn't exactly smell like roses or look his best. He smelled a little bit like gasoline, a little like himself and a little like the cologne he put on in the mornings. He looked like he'd been working hard. There was a smudge of something black across his cheek but he didn't know. So, as he waited to see if Jazzy would even show...he sat down and hugged himself loosely. Then, it was time to wait.

"Now this is what I call relaxation," Jazmine muttered to herself. Just then, her phone began to ring. She was about to answer it, but then decided not to; since the incident, only salespersons have been calling her phone. So, she decided to let her voice mail pick it up. She heard her phone beep, which signaled that she had a voice mail. So, she turned off her hot tub and got out and quickly wrapped her towel around her body. She turned off her iHome and grabbed her phone as she slipped on her flip flops. She placed the cover back over the hot tub and made her way inside, locking the screen door as well.
After she listened to her voice mail, Jazmine couldn't believe who it was; it was Carter James Williams, and he wanted her to come and meet him at the Abandoned Train Tracks, which was the place they had first met. She sighed and deleted the voice mail once it was finished as well as making her way to the laundry room. Quickly, Jazzy took off her swimsuit and wrapped her towel around her body and made her way upstairs with her iHome, which had her iPod connected to it, and her phone.
Jazmine immediately made her way to her closet. It was freezing outside, so she wanted to dress warm. Finally, she picked out some dark, washed skinny jeans along with a long sleeved gray warm, sweater tunic with gray Sydney Flat Boot being her shoe. She took her clothes to the bathroom and set them on the sink as well. Jazmine quickly put on some deodorant and recombed her hair as well as putting it back in a side ponytail, but added a dark brown headband too. Once she was completely dressed, Jazzy put on some perfume, turned off her bathroom and bedroom lights, and grabbed her purse and cell phone. As usual, Jazmine made sure all of her doors were locked and lights were turned off before leaving. Since she was wearing a heavy sweater, she decided she didn't need a coat. So, she made her way to the garage, opened it, started her car, and made her way to the Tracks.
After about five minutes of driving, Jazmine parked her car closest to the place where her and Carter had met. About thirty yards away, Jazmine could barely see Carter sitting by the old building where Jazmine had tripped over him. She turned off her car and put the keys as well as her phone in her purse. She got out and locked her doors and began making her way to where Carter was sitting.
"Hey. I-I'm really glad you c-called," Jazzy said while stammering a bit. She smiled a bit and made her way over to Carter's side. There, she sat down beside him and waited for him to talk. All she wanted to do was hug and kiss him, but she wasn't for sure if he even still felt the same way about her. 'I guess I'll just have to wait and see how this day goes,' she thought as she let out a nervous sigh.

"Hey. I-I'm really glad you c-called." Carter jumped. His big blue eyes flew up to find the person who was talking, but of course he knew who it was anyway. It was Jazzy. And when he saw her...for the first time in forever, some of the feelings from that night came right back up to the surface. But lots more of the other feelings popped up too...like the feeling of belonging he'd had when spending time with Jazzy. The carefree feeling of having what he'd hoped was a girlfriend and the unmistakable feel of a thousand birds fluttering around in his stomach. No, not butterflies. Birds.
"Jazzy," He finally said and the left corner of his mouth twitched. He fought off a full blown idiot-smile and began to get up by bracing a hand on the wall behind him. But the, she sat down beside him and he lowered himself back to the ground once again. "H-hi," His breath made clouds in the chilly December air. "H-how've you been?" He turned towards her...his insides feeling quite roller-coaster-ish. One side of Carter was telling him to hug her, kiss her...whatever. She was there beside him. The other side told him to get up and walk away. But that wouldn't be productive at all. They needed to start back someplace simple...like 'how've you been?' That was an alright question.
"I'm glad too." It was still quiet, so he added, "I like your hair." And despite the efforts to stay back...give them both room, he reached out to touch her hair. Then he realized his hands might still be dirty from work...even though he'd washed them. "Sorry..." He looked down, becoming quiet and cold once again. What now?

Jazmine noticed that Carter was standing up, and she thought he was going to leave. She sighed, but then noticed he was coming to sit back down. She knew what the problem was: he was nervous. She couldn't help but smile when he said the phrase, "I'm glad too," because that made Jazmine feel..hopeful. "I like your hair," Jazmine heard Carter say quietly and smiled when he rubbed her head. Although, she got a little confused on why he was saying sorry, he had no reason too, but she decided to let it slide.
'Thanks. I like..you,' was what she said in her mind, but knew it would be too embarrassing to say out loud. So, instead she said, "Thanks. I like your pretty, baby blue eyes." She smiled and placed her left hand, which wasn't her broken one, on his cheek and began stroking her thumb along his face as well. "I've missed you like crazy, Carter," Jazmine said quietly but surely as she looked deep in his blue eyes. She smiled a bit and removed her hand from his face as well as looking down to the ground.
"H-how've you been?" Carter asked Jazzy a little nervously. She smiled to herself as she thought, 'I always loved his nervousness. It's one of the things that makes him amazing and adorable.' She shrugged and sighed. "I-I've been okay I suppose. Still got my broken right hand, but I can actually somewhat move my fingers now," she said with a small smile. "And, um, I just want to tell you about what happened a week and a half ago that I am deeply sorry. I never meant to hurt you like that, and I hope you know that. I've actually been, um, taking therapy, and I've conquered my problems about my alcohol fear problem," she explained to him as well.
Jazmine took a breath and sighed as well as scooting a little bit closer to Carter. She took both his hands into hers and looked in his eyes. "I regret deeply what I did, Carter. And, I'm hoping you can forgive me. I really miss you Carter, and I miss hanging out with you. You coming into my life was the best thing that has ever happened to me. Even if you can't forgive, I'll understand, and I just wanted you to know that," she said with a couple tears forming in her eyes. She sniffled a bit and waited for what he had to say, and Jazzy could feel her own hands shaking a bit in Carter's hands.

"Thanks. I like your pretty, baby blue eyes," Jazzy said and moved her hand to touch his cheek. Of course Carter's pale face lit up like Rudolph's nose at that. His cheeks and nose had already been rosy anyway from the chilly weather. "Thanks," He smiled then stared forward for a second. Wait...his eyes were pretty? Well...he'd never been told that before. "Thanks." He said it again and felt like an idiot. 'How brilliant...'
Carter sort of sat on his numb hands as Jazzy explained just how she'd been. How her hand was getting better, how she'd been getting help and to his relief ...how she regretted what had happened. He was still really sorry too--even though he hadn't really done anything but try to please each of his friends. It was just....a big mess. He still had the snakebites, too. The holes were still there because he put them in each night before going to bed; so they wouldn't close. He never wore them in the daytime though.
When Jazzy decided to scoot closer, he pulled his hands out and raised one arm to wrap around her shoulder. Now, they were both leaning against the wall and Jazzy was leaning into his side. It was pretty comfortable, actually. He remembered sitting with her being comfortable. He'd missed it. And then she took his hands, where were on either side of her now, and held them. Her smaller hands were shaking in his as she looked up to him.
Was he really that scary? He felt bad...like the bad guy. Like he was responsible for putting that puppy-dog look on her face. He wasn't...but still felt the urge to fix it. "But...I wouldn't have called you here if I hadn't already forgiven you. Because I miss you too...and I think about you all the time and...just... can it go back to the way it was?" His eyes were big and serious, hopeful and tired looking. His cheeks were still pink from the cold...and also still smudged with something black. His hands were shaking, too. ooc; C:

A very, very chilling wind had blown which caused Jazzy to shiver. Her tears had disappeared because her therapist always told her to remain strong as long as she could. "But...I wouldn't have called you here if I hadn't already forgiven you. Because I miss you too...and I think about you all the time and...just...can it go back to the way it was?" was the sentence that made Jazmine smile. She looked into his eyes and smiled when she saw hope in them. "Carter, it makes me so happy to hear you say that. I'd love for us to go back to the way it was," Jazzy said with a smile.
Jazmine was so happy that she could jump and down, but she was comfortable just the way she was. She had Carter back, and now they were sitting at the place where they met with his arms around her. Finally, her life felt..completed and right once more. Out of habit and nervousness, Jazmine looked down to the ground and then back into Carter's eyes. Once again, Jazmine placed her left hand on his cheek and smiled. "Carter, you're amazing, and I'm glad you're in my life," and with saying that, Jazzy leaned in and kissed him. Finally.
While they were kissing, Jazmine could feel Carter shiver a bit because of the wind blowing. Jazmine pulled back and probably looked as if she has seen a ghost. Carter was basically wearing summer clothing, so he was probably freezing his butt off. "Come on, why don't we go back to my house for a little bit. You're probably freezing," Jazmine said with a smile. She kissed him quickly once more, and then waited for him to respond.

"Then it's--" He was cut off as Jazzy kissed him. Well he was alright with that... completely alright. He'd been thinking about Jazzy (kissing Jazzy) a whole lot. It was one of the things he missed the most. She was just...terribly good at it. It probably made kissing him seem terrible what with the difference in skill. Right? (lol)...
With a big bout of wind going though, he shivered. But to tell the truth, it wasn't just the wind that had made him shiver. When she pulled back, Jazzy looked pale...Carter felt pale. But his cheeks were also bursting with color; as were his eyes. They were really dilated at the moment but the blue was still terribly vivid against his drab clothing and dark hair.
"That'd be great." He smile, finally allowing the huge dimply grin he'd been holding back since Jazzy had arrived in the first place. And it wasn't only great because he'd be walking otherwise. Though it was a plus that he wouldn't have to freeze his toes off on the long journey. "As long as we can continue that...later." He quirked his mouth to the side and winked. His lips were a little big puffy from their kiss. He didn't know it but even through the Cinderella-bad clothing, it made him look quite kissable. (teehee)
"Here," He unfolded his long legs and stood up - extending a hand to Jazzy. His hands weren't as soft as they'd been when the two of them had first met. He really had been working hard lately...and it showed in more ways than one. One way...a benefit, really, was that he had quite a bit more muscle before. Not that you could tell from what he was wearing, then. "I am freezing." He commented with a good natured smile. It wasn't a complaint...he was just sayin.' (: ooc; C:

Jazmine couldn't help but smile when Carter said that would be great. She couldn't help but giggle at his little dimpled grin he made as well. "Gah, your dimples are adorable. Just like you," Jazzy said with a cheesy grin. Jazmine let out another giggle as well, "Well duh. How could I pass that up?" She smiled and winked back at him as well as taking his hand and got up from the ground. Together, they walked hand in hand to her car, and they both were ready to get back to her warm house.
Jazmine pulled her keys from her purse and unlocked the car with Carter, as usual, opening the door for her. She smiled and said a quick 'thanks' and got in. She immediately started her car as well as turning on the heater and the heated seats. "There, I bet the heat feels really good," Jazzy said with a smile. She and Carter both put on their seat belts, and Jazzy put the car in drive. Then, she turned the car around in the right direction and headed to her house.
Five minutes later, Jazzy pressed the button to open her garage; she pulled into the garage once it was open and shut her car off. Carter and her got out, and she closed the garage on the way in. Once she was inside, she grabbed Carter's hand and led him to the living room. She set her keys, purse, and phone on the coffee table as they both sat down on the couch. "Why don't you get warm, and I'll be right back," Jazzy said with a mischievous grin on her face. She kissed him quickly on the cheek and ran upstairs to her room.
About five minutes later or so, Jazmine was walking down in her swimsuit with flip flops on and two towels and some black, long guy shorts in her hand. She walked in front of Carter and couldn't help but laugh at the expression he had on his face. "You're probably wondering why I'm in my swimming suit when it's like..zero degrees outside. Well, I'm going to go get in my hot tub, and you're coming too." After she said that, she threw the shorts she had in her hand to Carter. "Now, go change into these, and I'll be waiting for you. Don't be too long," Jazzy said followed by a wink. And with saying that, Jazmine walked out her side door and closed it once she was out. She turned on the hot tub and took off the cover as well as taking off her shoes and setting the towels on the table. She got in with a content smile on her face as she waited for Carter to arrive.

"That does feel good... Especially in comparison to what I'm' used to. You have no idea how far I have to walk every day." Carter shook his head and really did enjoy the warmth that Jazzy's heated seats provided. He was still smiling anyway...he really didn't mind walking. It didn't hurt anything in the long run. He just couldn't wait till summer; walking wouldn't be so terrible when it wasn't twelve degrees outside.
On the way there, Carter was extremely pleased with the small talk they exchanged. It was the pleasant, normal talk that he missed the most lately. What he'd grown used to was the heavy, boring, longing conversations. The conversations he had with Jinx always ended in shouting, lately. The conversations with his boss would end with 'you work too much, kid'. The ones he had with his mom always included tears --on his mom's part. Apparently, he didn't work enough to be worth much. She made him soo mad sometimes. He had at least three more jobs than she did. She had zero.
Five minutes later, Carter hopped out of Jazzy's car with a grin. He'd done this lots of times before. ~ And then he was sitting down on her clean pale couch. She kissed him on the cheek and disappeared. He didn't stay sitting long, though. Carter stood up as soon as Jazzy left. Mostly, he was afraid of getting her zillionare couch dirty. As he waited, he looked at her Christmas stuff. There was a tree but there wasn't anything under it. She didn't have anybody to put presents under it... even Carter's deadbeat mother got her act together to at least leave something. Even if it was only socks or something they already owned, just re-wrapped. He found it kind of funny that such a rich girl would still end up with as much as he would...being pretty poor.
He had just made the promise to himself and Jazzy that he'd get some prezzies' under there before Christmas when his...Jazzy came down the steps in none other than that infamous swimsuit. It was the one she'd worn the first time. It blew him away then and it still did now. He could feel his blue eyes growing a little bit bigger and his heart rate speeding up just enough to make his face even redder than before.
"Yes ma'am." He did a salute and caught the shorts she'd brought for him. Jazzy had just about gone through the doorway when he said, "Hey, Jazz... would you mind if I threw these in the wash?" He made an ew face and pulled on his shirt. It was kinda dirty. But before she said yes...or no, He pulled the shirt and jacket off altogether; giving her a taste of her own medicine. Now, all his hard work could be shown off. He winked too as his new muscles were exposed.

When Carter asked if he could throw his clothes into the washing machine, Jazmine just did a simple nod followed by a smile. Carter was more than welcome to do his laundry, and anything else, in the house he wanted; well, except trash the place, but she knew Carter would never do that.
Five minutes later had passed, and the screen door was finally opening. When Carter came out in the shorts, Jazmine about had a heart attack because Carter looked really..good and..um..hot. He had definitely put on some more muscle than the last time they had went swimming, which was in the summer. "Wow, someone has been working out. You look..stunning," Jazmine said with a smile as Carter was entering the hot tub. She noticed how Carter went to the opposite side of the hot tub with a cheesy grin on his face. "Oh, so you want me to come to you. Hmm, fair enough," she said with a devious grin on her face.
Before getting up, Jazmine stretched and yawned a bit. After she was finished, she got up and walked over to Carter who was welcoming her with open arms. Jazzy placed herself right on his lap to where they were facing face to face. Carter gently wrapped his arms around her back, and she smiled. "Are you warm now, sweety?" Jazzy asked with a smile. Absentmindedly, she moved a piece of hair out of his eyes that was out of place. She stared into his pretty, baby blue eyes and smiled deviously. "Now, where were we?" And, with saying that, Jazzy leaned into kiss Carter for the third time of the day.

Carter hurried upstairs, taking his clothes with him and dodged quickly into the bathroom. He'd probably end up taking another one later, but for the time being, he was filthy from work. The idea of getting into Jazzy's hot tub smelling like grease wasn't very appealing or at all romantic. It must have been the fastest shower of his life. he hurried to pull on the swim shorts and dodged down the hallway to the laundry room. While he was in there, Carter went ahead and emptied some of Jazzy's clothes into the machine as well. He didn't mind helping out at all; glad to be needed in any way. After that, Carter had fun with sliding down the stairs banister; something he'd done at home since he was a kid~ and walked outside into the chilly air. "Whew!" His breath made a cloud in the air but his smile was still huge anyway. He was in one hell of a mood; it felt good to finally be happy again. --- "Thanks," with rosy cheeks, Carter sank down under the water and released a sigh as the hot water did wonders for his tired body. Just enjoying the moment, he didn't worry about doing anything rash. But then, Jazzy moved over to his lap and his eyes were expressive, his mouth turned up in a smile. --- "Mhm, you?" he winked and leaned forward, completely in love with the feeling that kissing Jazzy gave him. _______________ note: not trying to mess up your post, but he probably took more than five minutes. : P

When Jazmine would always kiss Carter, a million shivers would always go down her spine. She has missed this, missed Carter especially. What happened that night a couple weeks ago was a total mistake, and Jazmine wish she hadn't done that. But, it was in the past, and it was time to move on. Life goes on, and Jazmine needed to learn that. Carter let it go, so it was time for her to do the same.
As they were kissing, Jazz's fingers would intertwine in Carter's hair; his soft, soft luscious hair. A very cold wind made Jazmine shutter which made her pull back even though she didn't want to. 'Stupid wind,' she thought with somewhat an annoyed look on her face. She looked into Carter's eyes and smiled as well as moving a stranded piece of hair out of his eyes. "Gah, I've missed you so much," Jazz said in a sweet voice. She gave him--or at least tried--a hug and got off his lap. She made her way to his left side and laid her head on his shoulder as well as interlocking their arms.
For awhile, it was an awkward silence. 'I wonder if Jinx and him are still friends..' she thought with a sigh. "C-Carter? If you don't mind me asking, are...are you and Jinx still friends? I-I really hope I didn't mess up your friendship, and if I did, I'm completely sorry. I never meant for this to happen..," Jazmine said with a worried look on her face. She looked at him and lightly kissed his cheek as she waited for him to respond.
occ;; oh, it's fine! sorry that it took me forever to reply, and a suckish reply at that. so sorry. :/

Warm water and the feeling of Jazzy's fingers coming through his fine hair felt wonderful. If there were ever a moment for Carter to feel at peace, this would have to be it. The only setback was chilly wind and it made Jazzy shudder and pull away. Carter frowned, not liking Jazzy's discomfort. "Are you cold? I wouldn't mind going in if you are," Carter looked over to Jazzy affectionately. Moving further into her hug, Carter said, "I've really missed you too...you have no idea." He'd been a mess lately. Totally depressed all the time. Sleep, Eat, Work, School, Repeat.
It was silent for a minute but he tried to enjoy it...just being there. It was nice... he didn't read too far into it until Jazzy asked a question that sounded nervous. He bit his lip and looked over to her. Carter didn't want to make her feel bad but the truth was the truth. "Well...we're not really speaking...a lot. Sometimes." Carter sighed. "It's fine though...he still gives me rides to school usually." Things were still strained between them though.
