Daniel and Trinity strolled though a maze of paintings and statues in Alice Springs's 'Creativity Gallery'. Not a very original name, but the place itself was quite original. The architecture of the building was pretty interesting: all sharp angles, glass and steel. Beautiful paintings with sweeping lines~ some of them were extremely detailed and some just simple pictures. The simplest, Daniel had been told, was a painting of a red circle. That was the main feature of the whole painting. Just the red circle.
But of course, all of these things about how the place looked were things Daniel had heard from his tour guide. He'd have to take the man's word on it. Why? Daniel was blind. The seeing-eye dog attached to him by a thin red leash was proof of that. The only other proof would be his eyes - never focused on anything.
Only sometimes, would his vision randomly come back. Usually that it was a Tuesday. He didn't know why. But today, it was Monday and he was uselessly blind. Rawr. Even so, he was enjoying his trip to the Museum just as much as if he could see. Probably. Yeah. And then he tripped.

Abby had a long day the day before. Nothing but work, moving furniture, all that of helping someone. Someone she really didn't even know. Someone named Madelyn. One of her best friends Landon had met a new girl and she was moving into the condos so she spent all of her Sunday night helping her, moving furniture, decorating, all that fun stuff. It was a busy day but that was her life, it seemed that almost every day someone new was happening, something intriguing. It was not often that she had days where nothing happened. She figured today may end up being one of those days if she let it so she took her camera bag, her jacket, and a book with her and headed out the door.
Where she ended up wasn't too terribly far. A 10-15 minute drive if there wasn't too much traffic, that place was Alice Springs. She went into the art institute, creativity gallery. Such an uncreative name, but she heard that they were working on changing the name, changing it to something better, something more captivating.
She walked around for a little bit...admiring all the photography that was there, all the structures, all the paintings, they were all intriguing to her. For some reason all the artsy creative stuff caught her eye, it was something she liked doing. In her free time she took pictures, painted, draw, anything...anything creative, anything to keep her bored.
She walked up to a huge painting, something that took effort to look at because it was filling up so much of the wall that she had to tilt her head up and sideways to look at some of it. "Isn't this just the coolest thing ever?" Abby said about the painting to someone random standing next to her. They looked about 30, a blonde, with a child about 5 holding her hand. "Yes it is. I love it!" The lady said and looked down at her daughter. "Isn't that cool Clare?" she said and her daughter nodded her head up and down in an adorable way and then turned around quickly as they all heard something behind them.
It was someone, who looked anywhere from the age of 16 to 18 who had fell to the ground. The fall wasn't too noisy, though it wasn't too silent. The fall was loud enough that anyone within a 10 foot radius would have heard it and thats exactly where Abby and some other people were standing.
"Goodness! Are you okay dear??" She said in her motherly, caring tone of voice. She grabbed his arm and helped him up. "It's a bit slippery honestly. I don't blame you. They should put a caution sign." She said with a giggle still holding his arm with support. He was really cute, falling wasn't the best impression, but it was good enough to get her to notice him.

Daniel groaned when his knees hit the hard tile floor. They had to be like...permanently bruised from falling all the time. He hadn't tripped over nothing though. Actually, he'd tripped over an extension cord that wasn't very well concealed. It totally wasn't his fault.
Trinity made a low whiny sound...something like a dog version of 'sorry that I didn't guide you away from that cord.' He petted her ear and said, 'it's okay, girl' in a reassuring voice.
What really surprised him though, was when somebody grabbed onto his arm and pulling him to his feet. Daniel reached out to touch the girls arm as he stood; just to make sure he didn't fall or get to close or something. From the way she talked, he figured it was somebody older...but then he realized it wasn't.
For one, her perfume was from Aeropostale. He recognized the scent as his best friend's little sisters perfume. So she probably wasn't that old. Plus, her voice came from down which meant she was shorter than him.
"Yeah...it is slippery." He let his eyes wander up to where he thought her face should be and smiled a cute smile that let his dimples show. "Thank you..." Daniel paused, "What's your name?"

She looked in his eyes as he raised back up from the ground. He agreed that the ground was in fact slippery. Something they both had to agree on, honestly. "They really should do something about it, it's really truly 'too' slick. I can't say I haven't fell before on this floor because that would be a lie. I come here a lot, so I'm getting used to it, but it still drives me insane." She said, babbling on about useless and pointless stuff much like she always did.
"You're welcome though. I'm glad to help." She smiled and he looked her in the eyes, but not quite. Something about it was different, it was as if though trying to stare her in the eyes his vision seemed to stray to the side a little bit like his eyes couldn't seemed to exactly find the pin point that they were looking at. There was only really one explanation was that he was blind but she wasn't right off the bat going to be like 'oh hey you're blind...blah blah.. that would be rude. Plus, the dog was an almost dead giveaway.
"My name is Abby. Abby Walker. Pleased to meet you." She said answering back to the question he asked. It was a usual question 'what's your name?'[i/], something most people asked when they met someone. She reached for his hand and shook it, looking him straight in the eyes though he seemed to be looking a little off. "What's your name?"
She scanned him up and down to make sure he was okay. Falling down wasn't the most fun thing to do in the world so she wanted to make sure everything was okay. She actually had some band-aids, and other quick first aid things in her camera bag if anything was necessary to use.
"So that fall didn't look all to fun in any way. Are you hurt? Did you get hurt? Is everything okay." She said touching his arm gently for a second and then letting it fall to her side. "I babble a lot, about useless things most of the time too. If you ever want me to stop talking just tell me to shut up. I promise I'll listen." She said, babbling on about how she babbled.
She looked over to the dog, the golden retriever that was planted to his side for protection. It seemed like a nice dog but her parents always told her never to pet a seeing eye dog because they were really protective over their owners and could snap on you any second so she just smiled at the dog. It's tongue was out and it was breathing really heavy. "Your dog is cute." She smiled at the dog, though she was tempted to pet it, she kept her hands to herself.

"Nice to meet you, too Abby." Daniel smiled a big smile and said, "My name is Daniel. Despain. Daniel Despain." He laughed then, kind of nervously. He was beginning to sound like a retard. And then, he didn't know what to say to keep them both engaged in the conversation they'd started. Started with him falling. He wondered if she was pretty. It wasn't really something you just asked somebody though. 'Are you pretty?'
"Oh trust me, it wasn't fun." Daniel said in a conversational tone and a little smile. "But no...I don't think I'm hurt. I...do I look hurt? I mean...does everything look okay?" He raised his eyebrows. The question wasn't supposed to sound mean...he was genuinely curious. Did he look hurt? He wouldn't be able to answer that himself. "Cos...I wouldn't know. You know...blind." He quirked his mouth to the side and made a brief gesture to his pretty brown eyes. They were kind of looking down at the moment, but he let them stray back upwards. To where the girl--Abby's voice was coming from.
"Babblings, okay though. I like that." Daniel told her and then really, really smiled when Abby complemented his dog. He absolutely loved his dog to death. It was like...his kid or something. Mom's usually go crazy for complements on their kids, right? He was kind of like that with Trinity.
"Her name is Trinity. You can pet her...she's really nice. And she's also really good with kids." He said and dropped down onto one knee to be at Trinity's level. "She'll love you forever if you pet her...just once." Daniel was kind of like that too. He still liked just about anybody who was ever nice to him. He already liked Abby. She hadn't pointed out the fact that he was blind; something that really didn't bother him anymore but did make her seem like a more thoughtful person. And...she liked his dog. He still liked that she liked his dog.

Daniel Despain was his name, it had a ring to it. It was a name that made you want to say it over and over and over. Daniel Despain, Daniel Despain, Daniel Despain, Daniel Despain. "I really like your name. It sounds...magestical." She laughed. "My name is Abby Gale Walker. It's kind of weird if you think about it. My first name is Abby and my middle name is Gale. If you say them quickly together, it's like Abigail, but not. I'm not sure why my parents picked that, but that's just what they did." She smiled. 'Gosh I really need to get out of this babbling habit.' She thought, clenching her fist at her side.
She felt bad instantly when he said 'You know...blind', not sure why, she just did. It seemed like something that would suck, something that would be horrible to live with, but you just don't have a choice. She looked at him, looking to see if he had hurt anything. "No, actually, I think you got lucky this time. I don't see any bruises or marks. Good job! I have to say I'm impressed." She laughed.
She wanted to ask more about the blind thing, it seemed interesting, she wanted to know his whole story, but they had just met so it seemed rude, that would have to be for later, if there was a later, if they decided to stay friends and continue talking.
"Oh can I pet her? I wasn't sure...Thank you!" Abby said pretty excited. If anything, she loved dogs. They were her favorite animal, domesticated that is. She petted the dog between the ears and it smiled in one of those cheesy puppy smiles. "Oh so cute! I love animals! They are just the cutest things ever!" She smiled still petting Trinity.
"So what are you doing here? Taking a day off? That's what I'm doing most definitely. I had a super long weekend, moving furniture and all that. I decided that this would be the most peaceful calming place to subside into to." She smiled even though the smiled planted on her face was most likely not viewable to his eyes.
Trinity kept going up to Abby and rubbing against her almost knocking her down because she wanted more attention, someone to keep petting her. The little kid from earlier, Clare, walked up and started petting Trinity like she was her own. Her mom came shortly after scolding Clare about how you shouldn't pet strange dogs that you didn't know because you weren't sure how nice they were. "It's fine. Trinity is a good dog." Abby smiled reassuring the mother. Hearing her name, Trinity's ears perked up. "Yes she is!!" Abby said in a really dorky puppy dog voice. The one that you only talked to babies and puppies in.

if I never see your face again
"Thank you. I really like your name too...That's...just cool. Abby. Gail. AbbyGail." He tried saying it separately, then together. "Yours is fun to say...its," Daniel paused to laugh at the word she'd used, then said it too. "It's magestical." Just saying it made him smile.
Abby didn't see any bruises or marks because his clothing was long. If it was summer, and he was in shorts and a T-shirt, she'd probably be really worried with his bumps and scrapes and bruises. He could fix them all by himself, now. That sounds like something a seven year old would say but it was true. And he was proud of it. :P
"Well, then I'm impressed too." He winked, but then frowned. "Were you okay when you fell?" It must've happened a long time ago, but he still hated the idea of his new, nice friend falling and hurting herself.
"Sure," Was Daniel's response to Abby saying thank you. "I agree. I love her to death. Even if she does eat my shoes." Daniel laughed but it came out as a cough. He was probably getting sick again. Oh boy. His converse had a tiny hole in them near the toe. it was on the side, though and didn't really hurt anything.
"Uh...yeah. I guess you could say that. But I have this really big art project due and I thought I'd come here for inspiration." He smiled but then paused the smile, knowing that probably sounded confusing. "They have tour guides....I had one with me earlier but I think she just...left." Daniel frowned. She'd been rather rude. The tour guide. Her name had been Kevina (LMMO) and mostly, she just sounded bored to death with her job. And especially the responsibility of showing a blind guy around. He always felt bad when people had to do stuff for him. :/
"It's kinda hard to get inspiration, though, when your tour guide ditches you. She had to explain what I was 'looking at'. But...oh well. I was having a pretty good time till I fell. And I'm having an enjoyable time now, talking to you." Daniel reached out to touch Abby; something he made a habit of doing - to make sure she was still there, and to see how far away she was.
For a second, the two teens lapsed into silence as Trinity was petted into doggy heaven. He knew his spoiled dog was enjoying this. Then, the next second, there was a mother and child's voice coming into the picture. Daniel felt a little kids hand touch his as he petted Trinity's floppy left ear. He automatically turned his head in Abby's direction; questioningly.
"Who's there?" He asked, eyes big and expressive as ever. If they were good for anything, it would be expressing emotion. Right now he was really curious.

Abby couldn't help but let a smile show whenever Daniel was saying her name over and over different ways. He said it was...magestical, that made her laugh. "Magestical, huh? Wow, well thank you. I feel special." She giggled. He was silly, which meant she was starting to like him a whole lot more now.
"Yeah...I was all right when I fell. I fall a lot though, so you know...no biggie. Usually when I fall all I get is a little scrap or something like that. I've never like, broken my arm..or anything" She laughed. "The floor really is slippery though. They should have those caution signs posted everywhere around this place, don't you think?" She winked.
"Are you an artist?! What do you do! Paint, draw?!" She said excitedly. As an artist herself she loved to hear when people her age were also good at it. "I'm a painter. I love to paint. It's my passion for sure. I've got a whole room dedicated to it pretty much. It's so much fun. That's kind of why I like coming here, it calms me and It's enjoyable to see the work of other people, it kind of inspires me to do better, and to see what else I can do. I like to challenge myself" She babbled on. She could honestly go on for days about art if you let her but she had to shut herself up so that Daniel could get some talking time in. (:
He said something about how his tour guide had left him. "Left you?! That's horrible. Why would anyone ever leave you." She said kind of upset at the tour guide. "At least you have Trinity and me now." She smiled leaning down to pet Trinity again with a smile. "Who needs a tour guide anyway. I'll be your tour guide." She laughed.
After the mother and little kid Claire had came over and Claire was petting Trinity, Claire's hand grazed Daniel's his look went instantly curious. It kind of made Abby smile in a way. She could tell he was beyond curious of who had touched him because not even seconds later he abruptly said "who's there?" with huge eyes. Abby smiled, "It's the child Claire. She touched your hand while petting Trinity." Abby walked over near Daniel and placed her hand in his subtly. "Don't worry, that's me..." She said assuring Daniel it was just her.
"Oh Trinity! You must be loving this attention, huh?" Abby said in her slightly annoying doggy voice. She scratched Trinity's head right between her ears and her face lit up. You could see the little doggy smile form on her face.

"Abby, that's exactly how I see it." Daniel beamed at his new friend (or in her general direction) and continued with "But yeah, I'm an artist. I don't really have an intense passion for a specific part of it though...I'm into lots of things. Pottery, sculpting, painting...pencil art. It just depends on what kind of mood I'm in...and how messy I feel like getting." Or of his eyesight was there or gone...
"But anyway..." He laughed, realizing they were jumping topics really quickly - he was failing to keep up. "I agree with you on the signs...cause these floors sure are slippery and from experience, I can say that broken arms are no fun at all. Especially to an artist." He'd had a couple (broken bones) so he knew they were the worst. And of course signs warning of slippery floors would be no good to Daniel--who wouldn't see them anyway--but to all the other normal clumsy people out there..it could make a world of difference.
"She probably got tired of showing the boring blind guy around." Daniel said and pursed his lips to the side. He hated being an inconvenience to anybody... especially Abby. Was he bothering her now? Did she only stick around because she felt obliged to be nice to the blind guy? He sure hoped not...she seemed pretty cool. "That'd be great," He said~ referring to Abby's offer of being his tour guide. He already knew she'd be the best he ever had. ~ When she told him that it was a kid named Claire, Daniel just smiled and said, "Oh. Nice to meet you Claire." With a small smile. He really did like kids but they tended to be more than he could handle sometimes. Still, he loved them anyway. He also liked knowing where people were around him so when Abby slipped her hand into his, he smiled down to Abby. They were still bent over to pet the dog but he was much taller than she was, still. With the smile, he gave her hand a small squeeze. He noted mentally that her hands were very soft.
Just so you know, I adored your reply.<3(: [/size]

Daniel went on for a few seconds about his artistic ways. He said that he wasn't really into one specific type of art, that he branched out into many types. "That's so cool" She said exquisitely intrigued. "You know, you'll have to show me some of your art sometime, I'd really like to see it." She flashed a smie. She thought about for a moment, she wanted to show him her artwork, but, he was blind, how would that work? She just kept quiet from that statement.
Abby laughed at his remark about how broken bones would be no fun for an artist. "No joke, that would suck." She smiled. "Have you ever broken an arm or something before? I can't say I have, not my right arm, the important one anyway. I can't imagine what it would be like. I mean, there is always the option of switching hands and being a lefty but, even then, it wouldn't be the same" She blabbed on, she needed to shut herself up or she would talk for days to her new found friend Daniel.
"She probably got tired of showing the boring blind guy around." ~ That sentence, it bugged Abby to no end. She hated that more than anything, when people were treated unfairly. Just because of something that you can help happened to you, you shouldn't be treated differently. "Ya know, I'm sure that's not the reason." She brushed it off. "Well good, I'll be the best dang tour guide you've ever had." She smiled at him, she wished he could see the huge brilliant smile she was giving him. ~
Seeing his reaction to the child made her all warm and fuzzy inside. Brownie points were instantly given to anyone who loved children, she was a child lover herself. Who could not love the big eyes, soft skin, innocent personalities (at times), and cute little voices of a child. ~ Daniel squeezed Abby and it gave her some reassurance. She squeezed lightly back with a smile. "So Trinity, Daniel, what should we explore first. This is a huge place, only little time. What to do, what to do." She laughed. [/blockquote]

"I'd be glad to," Daniel smiled and continued with, "And you'll have to show me your work too." She didn't know that he could see sometimes but he never realized his mistake. They went right on into the previous conversation. "I have, actually. There was this one time in high school..." Daniel's eyes narrowed; this story made him sound wimpy. Should he not continue? But he'd already started talking so oh well. "Well anyway they didn't like me very much. We can safely say that I 'tripped' and broke my wrist." It had sucked majorly. Totally not his fault but it was a very easy story to believe... the scrawny blind kid tripped and broke his wrist. No one felt the need to mention that he'd tripped over someone's outstretched leg. Classic.
"Switchign hands wouldn't work for me," Daniel shook his head. "I barely have good handwriting with my right one...I'm sure if I switched, it'd look awful."
"Thanks, Abby." Daniel smiled nicely back at the girl. He could hear from the tone of her voice that a smile had been involved and made a promise to himself that he'd see it someday. She probably had a fantastic smile... He couldn't help but wonder, what else did she look like? For all he knew, Daniel had a supermodel beside him.
After the last few minutes of petting the spoiled rotten dog, Daniel heard the kids mother tell them it was time to go. Daniel waved goodbye in the general direction of the girl and said, "Nice meeting you Claire," // When she left, they all stood again, even Trinity who was basking in the afterglow of a thurough petting.
"Well. . .you've been here before, right? What's your favorite thing?" He, himself liked the sculptures; Especially the lifelike ones. There were signs saying that you shouldn't touch the artwork but he always did anyway...it was unfair to take touch away when it was your normal way of sight. ooc; sucked...im sorry. and daniel's account isn't working. "Of course I'll show you my work! I'd be more than happy too." She smiled, but slightly confused. Hadn't he said he was blind? How then, could she 'show' him, her work? She brushed it off and continued. "I make new things almost everynight it seems.! It's like a stress reliever. I nearly get headaches when I'm not being artistic." She winked.
Daniel went on to talk about his previous encounter in high school with some bullies. "Awh that's terrible. Tell me more though, is there more to the story?" She said, eager to hear more. She wasn't sure though, if he wanted to talk about it any further so if he wanted to drop it she was fine with that.
Abby loved that Daniel was good with children, the way he was acting around Claire, it made her smile really big. She was a sucker for the boys who love children, as she loved them too. Claire soon left with him mom, leaving just Trinity, Daniel, and Abby alone in the room full of paintings.
Daniel asked which was her favorite but she paused and looked around. "I honestly really can't tell you my favorite. I don't have one. I love them all. I look into them all and see the storys behind them and what lies underneath. It's what I do in my freetime and now I began to love everything in here." She smiled. "What about you? Do YOU have a favorite?" She asked giggling. She wondered what he would say, if he had a favorite. Could he? Being blind and such? She didn't know.
