Grace let her finger make a track in the otherwise unmarred sand of OVA's only beach. Normally, the lightly colored sand would be ruined with footprints and crashed sandcastles and the trash of a days worth of beach-goers, though now, the space was eerily vacant.
What else did one really expect at one--almost two--in the morning? Reasonably, nothing. If you looked far enough, you'd see an old man asleep on the sand... he always slept there. Grace felt just as much a bum... for starters, her hair had been hastily thrown up into a bun, her tank top only covered by the sheer fabric of a sweater to block the night chill and her long legs--tan but bruised from clumsiness--were clad in a raggedy old pair of denim shorts.
Despite the fact that it was newly summer, Grace found herself shivering in the slight chill. Maybe the beach wasn't the warmest of places at night but it was one of the most peaceful. From here, you could see almost all of the stars but never dream of counting them. You could watch the waves and the moon reflecting off the water and almost, almost forget your problems.
Though try as she might, Grace just couldn't seem to forget hers.
ooc; my random and probably crappy muse. tags;; Andrew, grace? new character i guess. we'll see.

"While Tobi was out with his new friend Cadence (Whom, Bass sorely hoped would grow to be a possible girfriend for him), Bass was left to his thoughts and decided to take a stroll around the city of Megalopolis. Sooner than expected he found himself at the entrance to the OceanView Avenue Beach. Bass, unlike his son, loved the beach. It was bright and sunny and full of life and vitality. There was a figure just under the horizon where the water danced it's ever dance with the moon and the stars and the sun. From what Bass could make out the figure was a girl, no more than 16 or 17, about Tobi's age. She had long strawberry blonde hair that was up in a bun that looked like it was going to fall any minute now and her skin was a perfect natural tan. She looked to him to fit right in at the beach, as if she were somehow a part of it all. Despite everythng else that was going on Bass' life he couldn't help but just stare at this girl for a moment and ponder what her life was possibly like. Did she live alone? Did she have friends? What were her hobbies? All of these questions took their turn floating around in his head and when he was finished with them he moved on to something else. Tobi.
Where was his son? He didn't really know. Ever since 'The day' Bass liked to know where Tobi was at all times. But maybe, if only for a little while, he could just sit there in the beautiful white sand and stare at the ocean, and the girl that seemed to be a part of it." Moreso than he ever thought was possible. OOC: Could you make a charrie for Marie-Benet Jackline Morel? That's Bass' love interest. Tobi's and Sam's sister. Pretty pretty please.

It was kind of weird how comfortable sand could be...almost better than a bed (definitely better than Grace's age old rock hard mattress). If she were to let herself, she just might fall asleep on the pious surface. The noises of the water and the stillness of the air combined made her just all the more sleepy. Sleepy that is, until she looked up.
Letting loose a short--though shrill--scream, she jumped. Her eyes were wide as she caught sight of a person standing to her right...just standing there. A moment later, she slapped a hand over her mouth to kill the noise. The figure didn't look menacing but he sure had startled her. After all, for all she knew it was the sleepy hobo out to get her or some creep... She supposed that she deserved the small scare for being out here all alone.
"H-hi." Grace said, quiet and hoarse at first but louder on the second try. Her hair had fallen down mostly when she jumped... she pushed a strand of it back and started to stand; ready for anything.
ooc;; She's an idiot but a brave idiot. Going out by herself to a secluded location... anybody could get her.
