M adelyn sighed, leaning back into the warm leather seat her strange car. It was new, it smelled new and it was from Paris. She'd had to wait a long time to get this car...not because of the expense but because there weren't many of its kind. She had originally wanted it because it was Eco friendly but it still has the 'wow, that's pretty!' thing going for it.
The way the rain was pelting down made her nervous...she didn't know the roads very well and they were slippery. What would happen if she wrecked? Would anybody find her? Maybe... though she hadn't gotten a text/im from Landon in a while. It wasn't her fault, but Maddy felt super lonely. The radio had turned static not too long before...something to do with the storm, she assumed. Her cell was loosing service too and that was disheartening.
Maddy's voice was shaky when she decided to try singing a song...it made her nervous because of how quiet it was. She'd use the iPod but it was buried somewhere in the back seat. Smart thinking, Girl. She sighed, her voice dying away with the Thunder.
~*~
'WELCOME TO OCEAN-VIEW' A blurry sign read. It was hard to make out through the rain. Madelyn hadn't seen rain this hard in years...since she was little. She usually loved rain and pretty lightning but she'd never ever ever been fond of loud noises. Maddy actually had rather sensitive hearing...the loud thunder made her wince. The dashboard said 5:30pm but the fierce clouds made it seem darker--later.
She knew where she was going...it couldn't be that hard to find the right street... or at least it wouldn't be if she could read the signs. With confusion, Maddy flipped open her phone and started a text to both Michael and her newly acquired friend; Landon. 'I Think I'm Lost.' Then another to just Landon. 'Where do I go from here...' she explained her surroundings, biting her lip and listening to the windshield wipers as they tried unsuccessfully to clear away the downpour. She was, weirdly, nervous. Was it because she'd be meeting the infamous Landon? Or...the new house? It made her stomach flip.[/blockquote] words;; 421 ooc;; thur ya' go. muse;; not much TT_TT tags;; Landon// Nikki outfit;; making it on polyvore.

Landon listened to the rain pounding on the window and the sound of the wind and thunder outside. The sound of his mom making cookies in the kitchen, dad watching football in the living room, and Ilieana blasting music in her room. The cookies smelt good, they were chocolate chip, his favorite. Ally screamed and cried from the other room. She was 4 and was terrified of storms. Landon got up from the window seat and went to comfort Ally.
"Hey dear." He said while walking into Ally's room. "It's okay sweetie. The storm will be over soon, no need to fret." He smiled and then walked over to comfort her some more. Her rubbed her back and tucked her into her bed. "Let's get some sleep. Before you know it you will be awake and the storm will be over." He told her and then after about 5 minutes of just rubbing her back and talking to her gently she fell to sleep.
He walked out of her room and gently shut the door. 'Boom boom boom' came from Ilieana's room so he walked in there without knocking on the door. "Ilieana can you please turn down the music, Ally just fell asleep." Landon smiled and then closed the door to Lea's room. He listened to her music slowly be turned down. "Thank you." He said through the door.
The oven beeped from the other room, the cookies must have been done. "Oh yum cookies!" Landon said when he walked into the kitchen. "Yes but wait a few minutes, they are really hot." His mom said pulling them out of the oven. He watched the steam roll up into the air. "Can't wait. Hey I just put Ally to sleep. I know its only like 5:30 but she was crying and I figured that putting her to sleep was the only solution." Landon explained and then threw himself on the couch. "I'm going to help a friend move in later by the way. It's raining out so I figure she needs the most help she can get." Landon told his dad, hoping he heard him because he was so engrossed in the football game.
He heard his phone go off from his pocket and he reached in to grab it. While getting it out he got another message. They were both from Madelyn. One read 'I think I'm lost', and the other read 'Where do I go from here...' with an explanation of her surroundings. She didn't seem to far from the condos. 'You aren't far away, if you look hard you will see a bunch of lights coming up and then you will see a huge hard to miss Ferris wheel towering over a lot of things. Once you see that just follow down the main street which is obviously titled Oceanview Avenue and then there are two huge buildings that say OVA condos on the top. 220 OVA is my condo building and 221 OVA is the other one. I hope you are in my condo building. Text me when you are here, I'll gladly come out and help you in the rain. [:' Landon sent the huge long message and then stuck his phone back in his pocket. His message was so long that he had to fit it into 3 messages.
"Are the cookies about cooled off mom?" He asked with hope. "Yeah they are about cooled off, can you take a plate of about 3 cookies to Lea though, please?" She asked with the plate already set out. "Yeah sure I guess." He said and then took the plate to Lea's room. "Awesome thanks!" Lea said and then smiled. "Yah no problem." He said also smiling. "So you get to go meet this girlfriend of yours." Ilieana asked. "She's not my girlfriend. We've only met only the Internet so far, cool your jets." Landon said and then shut her door, rolling his eyes.
He took a huge sigh and then walked back into the living room. The kitchen and living room were both separate rooms but were combined at the same time so he could see both his mom and dad at the same time. He plopped on the couch and began watching the football game. He felt really nervous, probably because he was close to meeting Madelyn in person. He was excited but scared all at the same time.Word Count!:// 751 words!! ooc:// wow... long reply xD

*B uzzzzz*
Madelyn's cell phone vibrated loudly between beats of thunder though it only scared her the first time. A small but definitely there smile lit up her face when she got the second message, and a third. Sure she was nice and usually happy-go-lucky but she wasn't used to this. Wasn't used to people sending her messages or honestly, lots of people trying to talk to her. It was especially exciting to be getting those messages from Landon. Landon the super cute--or so she'd thought--guy from the chat room Michael had dragged her into using. 'Thank you, Michael,' she thought with a grin. But she could only hope that he hadn't been tricking her...what if he was a forty year old pedophile just posing? That happened, right? 'Oh god...' She sure hoped not; her hopes were too high for that.
Madelyn contemplated pulling over but there was nobody behind her and it was kind of a side road anyway. She took the advise, very optimistic that Landon was giving her the right directions. The first landmark, a humongous Ferris Wheel was hard to miss...she found that right away. The sign that said Ocean-View was still in plain sight too so that wasn't too hard to find either. Eventually, Mady pulled her FCX Clarity to the curb; and looked up at the building that she would now
live in. Suddenly, it seemed like a bad idea. She felt the urge to drive home and go hide under the covers...though those covers weren't on her bed anymore. They were in a box. Oh well, suck it up. She told herself, and bit her lip. 'I'm here...' she sent the text and gripped the phone tightly.Just before getting out of the car, Maddy flipped open her mirror, moved some hair around so that it wasn't awful and touched up her makeup. Her makeup was pretty much just some light eyeliner, mascara and lip gloss. When she was satisfied, she pulled in a deep breath, pulled the keys and stepped out of the car. Her flats immediately became soggy and gross with water which was disappointing...though they'd dry.
As quickly as she could, Madelyn walked around the car; it was still pouring and she didn't have an umbrella. Very smart. She grabbed the first to boxes that there were; they had plates and silverware in them. She almost tripped over the curb and that would've sucked. She was almost positive that her building was 220 and upon checking her key, she found that it was. 'Here goes nothing , she thought and realized with a pang, maybe she was reading too far into this. She was still excited. : ) .[/blockquote] words;; 526 ooc;; i fail...don't judge. muse;; Negative Zero. tags;; Landon// Nikki outfit;; making it on polyvore.

Landon watched the team he didn't want to win score a touchdown. "Dangit!" He yelled softly, not loud enough to wake up Ally. He bit into his second cookie and smiled at the tasty delight in it. The storm still banged outside and Landon hoped that Madelyn was finding her way alright, it might be hard to see outside because the rain was pouring down so hard. It was like bullets being shot down, or so it sounded like that. "Jeez it's really coming down out there isn't it." Landon's dad said still engrossed in the football game. "Yeah it sure is." Landon said and then a huge crack of thunder made a loud boom outside and inside the house.
Landon heard Ally cry from the other room. He walked in there to tell her it was okay. "It was just a crack of thunder, nothing you have to worry about dear child. Lay back down and rest, it'll be okay." Landon said peeking his head through the door. "Love you Lil' girl." He smiled and then gently closed the door again, dejavu. He walked back into the room that smelled like chocolate chip cookies. "Milly!" Landon yelled and then took a dove for his plate of cookies that Milly found and began chomping on it. "Bad dog." Landon said slapping the dogs nose. "My cookies, not yours!" He joked. He swiped his plate away and threw the cookie that Milly was chewing on away.
Landon sat on the couch and then reached for his phone that was in his pocket after it rang a few times. 'I'm here' read the text. It was from Madelyn. Just the thought of her behind right outside gave him the chills. Landon shuffled his feet on the floor a few times with excitement and nervousness. "Ahh." He said sounded like a freak. "You okay son?" His father laughed. "Yeah fine dad. Ima go outside and help somebody alright?!" He cheered. "In the rain??" His father asked. His eyebrows rose and he looked outside at the storm. "You do realize its pouring cats and dogs out there right?" He continued. "Yeah yeah, I got an umbrella, I'll be fine." Landon smiled. He turned around to face the body mirror. He straightened her shirt and ran his fingers through his hair. "Be careful!" His father screamed as Landon closed the door.
He pushed the button for the elevator to come. It always took longer then it should for it to arrive. It was really annoying. His condo was on the second floor and he was feeling to nervous to take the stairs. Knowing him the first step he took would make him trip on the stairs. When he got into the elevator there was a lady standing in there. He pressed the number 1 and then backed away to the back of the elevator. "I'm so excied!" He jumped. The lady gave him a weird, nearly rude look. Landon just coughed the situation away. The annoying ding went off saying that the elevator was on the requested floor and him and the lady both made their way off. It was kind of a good feeling to be off that elevator that was filled with awkwardness.
He was scared. What if she was some 40 year old man, some pedophile. How was he supposed to know. He wished, hoped, and prayed that she was what she looked like and said she was. If not then he got his hopes up for absolutely nothing. He walked outside and then opened up his umbrella. The door outside had a huge cover over it. So he was good walking for about 20 feet or so before being exposed to the pouring rain. He saw a girl lifting boxes out of the car but he didn't know if it was Madelyn or not. Just to be safe he didn't walk up because if it wasn't her he would feel extremely awkward. He stood with his umbrella down, under the cover, praying that the girl 30 feet from him was Madelyn.

W ith a sigh, Madelyn lifted the weirdly heavy box from the back of the car...she must've put something else in it too besides silverware. Maybe bricks? Maddy was wearing a rain jacket and the hood was up, but by the
time she'd walked to the main door, even its rain-proof material was almost soaked through. Her hair was mostly dry except for a few strands that had been left out of the hood. She didn't mean to, but Madelyn coughed. She definitely hoped that she wasn't getting sick...with her bad luck and awful immune system, it was almost set in stone that she'd have a cold.
She was thinking that today was possibly the worst day in the history of the world to move...she didn't know why it'd been so important for this to be moving day. It didn't have to be. Maybe it was because somewhere deep down, she knew she'd chicken out and stay home. She'd gotten it in order with her dad to be emancipated. That seemed stupid now...she was only sixteen; barely able to drive her car.
Maddy bit her lip, looking around. Believe it or not, there were actually several people outside. A lady was trying to get her dog to use the bathroom, a middle-aged man was smoking against a wall... a homeless looking man was sitting against the side of the building under the awning; he looked cold. Maddy could relate. Her teeth were chattering.
Last, she noticed a young looking guy, standing behind an umbrella. Madelyn didn't know how she'd missed him before...he resembled the guy from the chat's small picture. Was that him? Maddy set her box down on the ground where it was protected from the rain. "A-are you Landon?" She said, pushing off her hood and biting her lip. She didn't usually stutter. Only when she was uncomfortable...and it drove her crazy. She tried to stop shaking...but she was just cold. Unreasonably cold. It felt like the chilly wind had blown right through her thin jacket and jeans. In her small hand, she still clutched her phone...it made her feel strangely a little bit more safe; connected to home. Or, what used to be home.[/blockquote] words;; ooc;; i fail...don't judge. muse;; Negative Zero. tags;; Landon// Nikki outfit;; just...look at the siggy. lol.

Landon stood at the covered doorway staring out into the rain. The girl could possibly be Madelyn but he didn't want to chance it. He had on his huge leather jacket because he expected it to be cold, with the wind and all. Landon shifted from his left foot to his right foot a few times and ran his hands through his hair. He hoped in all reality that Madelyn would think he looked good.
The girl, who he prayed and hoped was Madelyn slowly walked up to him. She looked a tad lost, though she was just moving into a strange building with strange people. Landon got nervous when she walked in his direction. He coughed a bit and then looked at the girl that was about 5 feet from him now. He bit his lip as she got closer and closer. He knew that it had to be Madelyn, why else would she be walking up to some random teenager.
"A-are you Landon?" She stuttered. She could be stuttering from the cold or from nervousness. "Y-yes, I'm Landon. Landon Hall." He smiled at the girl. His voice cracked a little, not because he was cold, but because she was standing in front of him and it made him nervous. She was even more beautiful than the icon in the chat room, if it was Madelyn. She looked cold, freezing even. He took off his heavy leather jacket and gently wrapped it around her wet, cold, shivering body. "Hope that helps." He winked.
"So... I'm guessing that you are Madelyn... If not I'll feel like a total idiot." He laughed. He pulled up the umbrella with his left hand and wrapped his right arm around her body so she would also fit in the umbrella. "Let's go get your other stuff out." He said and then took one step out of the cover. The rain pounded really hard on the umbrella. "Jeez, it sure is raining hard, huh?" He lifted his eyebrows up and ran to the car. He unraveled his arm around her waist and gave her the umbrella. He grabbed a few boxes and then let her grab a few also. From the looks of things she was just about done getting the boxes out.
He ran back under the cover to dry off. He shook his hair and water flew every which way. "Wow." He mumbled. He brushed off some of the rain on his clothes and then looked at Madelyn which looked pretty well covered with the umbrella and the leather jacket. "It's like two seconds out there and you feel like you just jumped in a pool." He smiled a crooked smile. Word Count: 456 words [: Ooc:// Sucks compared to the other replys. sowwy xD

M addy's expression must have been one of worry...the way her teeth were chattering was livid proof of that. Biting her lip didn't seem to be helping much either. True, she could blame the old' immune system because it was a very honest excuse for the pathetic appearance. Really, she probably had a kind of super-cold coming on. At the thought of that, Maddy couldn't help but to picture poor Michael under his mother and grandma's harsh--but needed--care.He'd be better in no time while Madelyn would be still nursing that cold - a week and a half later. She could forsee it.
After finding a way to drag her suitcase though potted plants and inevitable rain puddles, Maddy looked up. And what she saw, a regular teenage guy--maybe slightly more attractive, but--she was pretty sure that this was her guy. This was Landon. At least she really hoped so. He was kind of tall but not freakishly so; dark hair, dark eyes and an impressively white smile. One of the only visible flaws to the 'I'm totally at ease, the coolest dude in the land' act was that he--too--was biting his lip. It didn't look silly when he did it though. But... what would Landon have to worry about? Madelyn was boring; she was unimpressive with her wobbly voice and timid view of life. She was the one who should be scared: she didn't know anything about her surroundings other than the familiar pounding of rain and the whir of traffic in the background.
Hugging her arms, Maddy's lips tipped upward into a small smile. He'd stuttered out the name Landon Hall. 'Yesss!' was her first thought and then wondered briefly why his voice had cracked. That train of thought left the station when he stepped closer. She almost flinched backwards for who knows what reason, but stayed in place last minute. The outcome was quite pleasant; he lent her his super warm and comfy leather jacket. At first, her eyes went wide from the nice gesture and her cheeks flushed. The jacket smelled good... "Awh...you didn't have to do that...But...thanks. I'm freezing," admitted and then adjusted it so that she was wearing it correctly--arms through the sleeves. It went past her hands but she could push it up.
Maddy felt like a kid in that jacket; probably looked like one too since she had to tilt her head upwards just a bit to meet his eyes. Honestly, she felt like hugging him...but that would look weird so she didn't. Plus there really wasn't a reason for her to. "Yeah..." she laughed, "Don't worry, I'm me. And... I don't bite." She grinned, crossing her arms and turning slightly at the waist--back and forth--not wanting to hold still.
It came as a small shock to Madelyn when she noticed the umbrella they'd be sharing and even more when he wrapped his arm around her. She hoped he wasn't offended when she'd jumped...she was only surprised. Trying to be sneaky about it, Maddy snuggled in a bit closer; hoping he wouldn't mind. She was so cold! (excusexD) "Thank you, by the way. It's really nice of you to help me." Maddy turned her eyes up sideways to see Landon's face and smiled...it was kind of hard to see him properly because they were maneuvered close so that the umbrella would cover them both.
"Does it usually rain this hard here?" She was honestly curious. If so, it would take a lot of getting used to. Not that she'd mind...from a safe and dry inside area. After that, the two of them went to get an armload of boxes... really there weren't very many. Mostly they were blankets and cups and stuff, some pillows, picture frames and whatnot. It couldn't have taken them more than fifteen minutes with the combined effort. There was one more box but Maddy deemed it unimportant and would get it later.
Under the awning, Landon shook his hair and water flew everywhere. Maddy laughed when a few drops from it hit her face. He was so cute...just...carefree. She wanted to be carefree too... but didn't really know how. For the time-being, she just smiled back in a pleasant way. "I know what you mean...it was like this at my house--er...my dads' house--when I was loading all the stuff up," Madelyn smiled but it was ruined by another cough. 'Crap'
The two of them had been piling boxes beside the elevator so that all that all they had to do was move them the short distance to her empty condo. There wasn't a whole lot to look forward to though, other than it being empty. White walls, no furniture or decoration. She needed to go shopping...but it was seven pm and she was just ...too tired for one day. Maybe she'd sleep on the floor or something. "I'm tired now," She said, only kind of kidding as yawning slightly. She hadn't slept much the night before...maybe three or four hours. That and she was sort of hungry...to prove that, her stomach growled lightly. She responded to that with a flustered "Sorry," to Landon.Once back inside, Maddy felt sort of guilty-she hadn't given Landon's jacket back yet. She would...just...later. When he had to leave. The thought of that made her sad but she'd think more on it later.[/blockquote] words;; 1008 ooc;; O.o muse;; .... tags;; Landon// Nikki outfit;; making it on polyvore.

Landon smiled but inside he was really cold. As much as he loved rain and storms he wished it would stop for a half of a second so that things could get done. He rubbed his hands together trying to keep warm in this cold weather. It was surprising to him because the weather here was normally really hot, comfortable weather, not cold rain. He looked out onto the ocean and saw the rugged waves smash into the rock making a 5 foot wall of water and then splash back down into the rest of the water. It was really cool to see something like that because the waves were usually very calm.
Madelyn said that Landon didn't have to do that but yet she snuggled into it like a child with a huge blanket. "It was my pleasure. And do not need you getting sick." Landon smiled. Giving away his jacket made him even more cold but seeing that it was on Madelyn made it all go away. He looked at his arms that had massive goosebumps and he rubbed his hand up and down his arm quickly trying to warm up. "Brr." He said to himself, it sure was cold.
"Oh, good. I was hoping you were Madelyn. Ya know, otherwise I'd feel kind of silly here. But you do look like your icon on the computer." Landon smiled. It was true, but the Madelyn standing in front of him, was even more pretty than the one in the picture. It was hard to believe it was actually her. Though, of course, he was glad that this was here. It would have been awkward if nobody had showed up.
Madelyn thanked Landon for helping, but he had to admit he wasn't helping just to be nice, she was really cute. "Anytime!" Landon exclaimed. He grabbed another box and led it to the door. "Unpacking is no fun, I'll help you though. And I'll get Ilieana to help also because she's great at decorating, you guys will be great friends." Landon smiled and grabbed a box that said fragile on it. He gently set it down on the floor and went to meet up with Madelyn.
"Does it usually rain this hard here?" Madelyn asked. Landon looked out at the rain and watched it pour really hard on the ground. It really hadn't rained that hard here in forever. "Honestly, no, it doesn't." Landon said trying to get away from the rain as much as possible. He was definitely going to need a shower after this. "It rains every once in a while, but like a light rain. This normally never happens. I'm sorry it had to when you were moving in." He apologized.
"Well I'll tell you what. Since you are just moving in, all your stuff is in boxes, and its sort of getting late, why don't you come into my condo, meet my family, eat some food and then you can stay over night. You can stay in my room if you want. I have a pullout couch and it's really comfortable." Landon offered. He felt bad that after this long day she would have to stay in a new condo with nothing set up. It would make him feel better if she was in a nice warm house with food and beds.
Landon grabbed a box and moved it into the door. "Your condo should be on the first floor. Mines on the second. There are about 3 or 4 condos on the first floor because it's such a big building. My condo is on the second floor. So why don't we just move all the boxes into the main room of your condo and then we can go relax in mine." Landon said. He was glad to meet a friend without family in the condo. He knew where he could come to get away from family now. "Sound good?" He laughed and then grabbed about 3 boxes and stacked them on top of each other. He knew it would be hard to see but he was never one for taking a lot of trips. word count:// word: 690, site: 704 ooc:// It's not that good. I'm sorry! =\ tag:// Madelyn//Megan outfit:// Blah....

A pparently it wasn't only the wind and rain that were out of check; the ocean was churning too with five foot waves to add to the mix. "Wow..." she whispered. Maddy had always been intimidated by the ocean and this made it worse. It was a pleasant surprise to see how close they were to the beach though. On a good day it would be within walking distance but on a lazy day; maybe a short drive.
Landon said that it was his pleasure to let her borrow the jacket and that he couldn't have her getting sick. That--for some odd reason--made her smile. "Well...thanks again." She said dumbly."You don't really look like your icon...kind of but...not really." Maddy paused, then, "I mean that in a good way. She looked down, embarrassed for how awkward she was around people. On her eyes journey to staring at the pavement, she couldn't help but to notice the goosebumps decorating Landon's arms and couldn't miss his mumbled 'Brr.' Without really thinking about it, she reached out and touched his arm. It was really really cold and that made her feel bad. "Here," she started to pull off the jacket, "You're really cold." In her head she thought the opposite, 'You're really hot.' Of course she didn't say it out loud.
They continued to talk as they walked to her condo; arms loaded with random and various boxes. Landon--at the moment--had three medium sized ones and Maddy had five small ones on the first trip alone they'd covered eight. That was progress. "Ah well...that's my bad luck for ya'. Stuff like that always happens. Maybe I just picked a bad day to move." She smiled a half grin as they walked together. Risking a look sideways at Landon made her almost fall and drop the boxes; she got her balance back last-minute.
At her door, she balanced the boxes with one arm, leaning them against the door as she patted each pocket for the key. For one scary moment she thought it was lost but then she found it. *click* Madelyn turned the handle and pushed the door open to find her new home. The architecture was pretty and the floors were clean and cold; made of dark hardwood. The walls were white and every surface--every granite counter-, every shelf--was bare. It looked really cold and really empty. There was a lot of work to do. "Oh boy," she whispered and set down the boxes.
Madelyn was just beginning to see how nice Landon really was; he'd just offered to let her stay over, he'd helped her carry her boxes and had promised to help unpack. She was...almost lost for words. "~Why don't you come into my condo, meet my family, eat some food and then you can stay over night. You can stay in my room if you want. I have a pullout couch and it's really comfortable." He was smiling and Madelyn couldn't help but to think that --even if she wanted to--she wouldn't be able to say no. "Well...that sounds great actually; its really nice of you to ask...but...I don't want to intrude." She tugged on her sleeves so that she could hold onto them and then blew some hair away from her eyes; it kept moving out of place and tickling her nose.

"Really it was no problem, everything. It's more than my pleasure. I have nothing else to do anyway." Landon laughed. "You don't really look like your icon...kind of but...not really." Maddy paused. "In a..." Landon began to say 'In a good way or bad way' but Madelyn interrupted him with the answer.” I mean that in a good way." Landon smiled. "Well, I'm glad that it's in a good way. I would have had to go have a makeover or something to impress you if you said bad." He laughed. What if she would have said bad way. What if she would have said that he looked better in the icon, then what?
"Here." Madelyn said and began to slowly remove the jacket from her arms. "You're really cold." She finished. "Ah.." He said grabbing the jacket and slipping it back on her. He went around to the front and tightly zipped it up. "No...the jacket stays on you." He exclaimed with a huge smile. "And I mean it. I really do not want you to get sick." He laughed. "We have a long day ahead of us tomorrow, that's the last thing we need."
Landon and Madelyn continued carrying boxes and stuff into the condo now. They got everything out of the car and it was now time to go inside, away from the nasty weather. "Yeah, I have bad luck too." Landon admitted. It was true, a lot of good things did not happen to him, though he had to say, meeting Madelyn was definitely a great thing. When she got to the building Landon dropped the box in the middle of the empty room and sighed. "Wow...have we got a lot of work to do or what." He winked and did a 360 turn to look at all the walls.
"Well...that sounds great actually; its really nice of you to ask...but...I don't want to intrude." Madelyn said. She blew some hair out of her eyes because it kept falling down. Landon tucked the piece of hair behind her hair and lifted his eyebrows. "Are you kidding me? You will definitely not intrude" He laughed thinking about how much Ally would love Madelyn if she was awake.
"Are you sure that your parents--your dad--wouldn't mind?" Madelyn said still unsure about taking the offer. "I'm sure they wont mind. And if they do...which is assure you they wont, then I'll come stay with you." He promised. "My parents are really lenient, Ally will love you, and you've already talked to Ilieana. So trust me, they will be okay with you staying over for a night." Landon said again. He felt as if we was repeating himself in a way, but he was only trying to make a point clear.

M adelyn blushed when he basically said that, if she wasn't impressed by how he looked...he'd do a whole makeover just to impress her...that was...wow. He didn't need to change anything though...she was throughly impressed as it was. Just to make sure that he knew that... "Trust me, you don't need to change anything." And she mumbled the last part, "Definitely in a good way," again before blushing more than before. To hide it, she looked down and sort of scooted a box sideways so that they wouldn't trip over it...or something.Yeah, lame excuse.
Madelyn looked up almost sharply--when he grabbed the jacket from her--and bit her lip. She expected him to put it back on...but instead he put it on her and zipped it way up. "Okay, but if you get sick I'm going to feel terrible," She said, barely containing the smile that came from his apparent caring. She felt...happy.Like she definitely had a friend in Landon. How could she show him the same thing back? What did he need help with? Madelyn wished that she knew because she'd repay him in a heartbeat.
"I'd say," She breathed and leaned back against the wall for just a moment. She hadn't missed that he said 'have we got a lot of work to do' and not, 'you have a lot of work to do'. It made her wonder just how much time they would be spending together. She couldn't help but hope that it was a lot. And she also couldn't help but to wonder what Ilieana would be like. She seemed pretty nice over the Internet but that was one of the things that parents taught their kids not to trust. Maddy's dad never taught her that though and meeting Landon was turning out to be one of the better things she'd done in life... She was hoping--not putting too much heart into it, but still hoping--that maybe someday, Ilieana could be her friend. She'd never really had any besides Michael. But it was her own fault for being so withdrawn.
~ "Are you kidding me? You will definitely not intrude," He laughed and tucked the bothersome strand of hair behind Maddy's ear. She was beginning to like that laugh. It was--if anything--reassuring. "Well, if you say so," She smiled back up at Landon and then looked down. "You've got to promise me, though. If I get in everybody's way, you should tell me." She was half kidding; knowing that she'd try her best not to bother anybody. After all, how much space could a one hundred-thirteen pound, 5'4" girl take up anyway?
Madelyn watched and listened to Landon when he tried again, to reassure her that it would be fine and that his parents were lenient. Well they had that in common...though Maddy didn't think that they were lenient in the same way. Honestly, her dad didn't really know where she was half the time nor did he care about checking. He had just wanted her around like somebody might want a vase; something to call mine, something to keep around. But she wasn't around anymore which felt pretty liberating.
Within maybe fifteen minutes--since the two teens had the capability of multitasking--they'd succeed in bringing in all the boxes. They weren't by any means unpacked...but all were inside the condo and that was good enough.
"Who's Ally?" Maddy asked, trying to keep up. She picked up a box labeled 'Dishes' and carried it to the kitchen. But then she looked at the time on her cell phone and realized that it was just past seven pm... Maybe too late to be unpacking if she were to meet Landon's family and whatnot. Still, she opened the box and pulled out two glasses and filled them with water. The sink already had a filter on it, so Maddy didn't worry about it being unclean."Want some water?" She asked and took a drink of hers.[/blockquote] words;; 762 ooc;; sorry about how much it sucked... muse;; tags;; Landon// Nikki outfit;; siggy

"Definitely in a good way," Madelyn said blushing a little. It made Landon blush and he sort of turned away from her. Madelyn said that if he was going to get sick then she would feel bad. But he would rather it be him getting sick than her. "No, I won't get sick. Plus, if anyone is getting sick it will be me... don't worry about it" He expostulated (big word ^>^). Madelyn was nice, for the most part, there seemed nothing wrong with her. Usually you were taught to never talk to strangers on the internet and crap like that, but this actually turned out quite nice. Of course internet meeting could be dangerous, but Landon wasn't worried about this, it seemed so perfect.
"Get in the way? You're tiny." Landon laughed. "I doubt you'll get in the way, they will enjoy you're company. And my mom just made cookies, perfect timing!" He smiled with a small lick of his lips. He did enjoy those cookies, chocolate chip, yum. "Dad's watching football, like always. I'll just turn the tv off so he doesn't ignore you." Landon promised her. He didn't think his dad would ignore company. But it could likley happen because he was deeply into the game.
"Who's Ally?" Madelyn asked Landon. "Well, she's my little sister. Shes 4 years old. And that actually comes with a whole other story that I'll have to tell you sometime." He explained. "Want some water?" Madelyn asked taking a sip of her water. "Naw, I think I'm good actually. I'll get some later at my house if I need some, not thirsty at the moment" He said and then held onto the door. "Let's go over to my condo now. It's right around the corner and up the stairs." He waited for her to finish her water first before leaving. He was standing at the door holding it open.

M aybe neither of them would get sick; and that was definitely a high hope that she had. As far as Maddy was concerned, Landon should be 'saving himself' because she was pretty sure she'd end up sick no matter what. But...it was pretty obvious that his mind was made up on being really nice and sort of protective. And because she didn't want to start to be a pest, she kept her mouth shut other than laughing shortly and saying, "Kay," but she would worry about it.
"I guess it was good timing," She smiled and dumped out the two glasses of water. She had always had a weakness for cookies and apparently, so did Landon. He said that he'd turn the TV off so that his dad would pay attention to her...she was pretty sure that she'd rather blend away than having everybody's attention on her. But...she'd manage. Maddy just hoped that Landon's dad wouldn't resent her for... interrupting the game or something.
Madelyn had always loved kids...she was kind of excited to meet Ally if she could. He said that she was four and that that came with a whooole other story. She hoped that she'd get to hear it sometime. "Alright," She said with a grin and then said "Wait, just a second kay?" She smiled and then disappeared around the corner. Maybe it was vain but she felt like she had to check her reflection before going off to meet a family. Good first impressions were always nice. The bathroom was pretty nice; really recently updated. There was still a mirror hanging though she'd probably replace it later on. She looked...surprisingly okay for having been out in the rain. Though she was wearing Landon's jacket and hiding under his umbrella for most of the time. Aside for looking kind of tired and a little worried she was fine.
"Sorry... I just had to check something." She said and smiled; feeling excited and nervous and happy all at once. She was actually kind of surprised to see him still waiting there...what if he'd left without her? She probably would have sulked while putting away silverware or something and just stayed home. ~So, she joined him at the door and locked it behind them; still wearing the comfy jacket.
"So, have you always lived here?" Maddy asked, looking around and trying to start some small talk...she didn't like quiet. [/blockquote] words;; 467 ooc;; >.< muse;; epic fail tags;; Landon// Nikki outfit;; siggy.
"It really was good timing... and my mom would be happy to share with you or even make more cookie!" He exclaimed. Nothing like homemade cookies from mom. He walked around her apartment looking at all the cool stuff. It really did look pretty much exactly like his, but empty. He imagined all the other condos looked the same, he wouldn't think they would be any different, having more than one design in one building would be too much work. "Yeah this looks about like my condo, except empty or course" He laughed and walked back over near the door. His voice echoed throughtout the living room because everything was so empty.
"Wait just a second, kay?" Madelyn said and sort of shifted to the other room. Landon could still sort of see her. She was checking her hair and her make up nd everything to make she she looked good enough. Landon figured he would have to sneak away sometime to check and see if he looked decent also. Atleast comb his hair or something like that. He had to look good for Madelyn though, first day impression had to matter. It was like the determination whether they were going to see each other or not, the way the person looked and acted.
"Sorry... I just had to check something." Madelyn said smiling. "Don't worry, I'm patient enough...Seeing you is worth the wait." He winked, having his cheesy moment of the day. It wasn't hard to have those moment with her though. Cheesy and cute comments would come natural with her. It wouldn't be unnormal to be always thinking little cheesy comments after every single thing she did and said. Landon looked outside. It was still pouring like crazy outside and he didn't know when it would stop. He sort of wished it would stop though so he could take her on a walk or something. Even going to teh city. Anything that would allow more time to get to know her. The weather channel did say there were going to be storms but he didn't think that it would really last this extremely long. Normally he loved storms but not when they interuppted something that he wanted to do. ` "So, have you always lived here?" Madelyn asked. "Well...not really, but like I said with Ally, that sort of comes with another story..." He winked and opened the door for madelyn to follow. Being in an empty apartment room didnt seem like the place to tell a story. Being in an comfertable familiar room would feel better. It wasn't like it was a really epic story either it was just that he was adopted. No big long thing. He couldnt wait to tell her though, it seemed wierd not having her know. Plus, ALly wasn't really blood related too him. The only person in that family was Ilieana. He hoped Ilieana and Madelyn made good friend, it didn't seem like it would be hard because they were both alike in many ways.
Landon walked up the stairs holding onto the railing so he wouldnt fall with one hand gently on Madelyns back supporting her. They reached top of the staris and he walked down the hallway turned the corner, and then walked up to his door. He opened the door and a swish of cold air from the air conditioner hit him in the face giving him goosebumps. He hoped she would like his family. ooc:// IM SORRYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! word count:// 587 words.

"Seeing you is worth the wait," Landon said which was accompanied by a charming smile. He didn't looked phased at all after saying something like that...but it made Madelyn blush. She looked down at the floor then to try and hide it but it probably didn't do any good. Against her porcelain complexion, the bright color was hard to miss. The same went for her eyes. She could never hide what she was feeling because they were so expressive and extremely ...well...blue.
Madelyn also noticed that Landon's words echoed slightly in the empty space...it would've been ominous if she didn't' find his voice so sweet. Wait...what? Maybe sweet wasn't the word...comforting. That was better. He told her though that he hadn't really. She didn't really get that... but he also said that, like what he'd said about Ally, it had its very own story. Meaning that he didn't want to explain it; so she didn't push it further. She could wait. He winked after that and she smiled a small smile back; a slight blush tinging her cheeks again.
As they left the her new home...she shut the light off and locked the door. It was almost a relief to leave the empty space though what was awaiting her was also sort of scary. It was a whole family...and not the kind she was used to; broken. Michael's family was better than her own and even his parents were divorced...his older sister had left home when she was young. Madelyn's own mom was in an asylum and her dad was off making money elsewhere.
What was it like, she wondered, to have a mom that made you cookies while you had a dad who would sit in the same room; you could share his company as he enjoyed a football game. A twin sister who was your friend and a little sister to keep you smiling...she was actually kind of envious. He was so lucky but Madelyn also wondered if he knew that. That he was lucky. All of this passed through her head as Landon's hand--pressed slightly against her back for support--guided them up the stairs. "You know...you're really lucky," she said, startled that she'd voiced her opinion. It slipped out... She was usually quiet. She looked over to him casually, biting her lip as they made their way up the stairs.
Eventually, they'd made it to his door and at that, she sucked in a slightly subtle breath of air and moved backwards so that it was easier to hide behind Landon. "Here goes nothing," she whispered and hugged herself slightly.
