"You know...you're really lucky," Madelyn said sort of quiet, not knowing if she should have said that. "Oh really? How so?" He said smiling. 'I guess I'm sort of lucky, but not extremely' He thought. He wouldn't have considering him being lucky, with all this past, with the adoption and such. But he did have a family that loved him and still being with Ilieana was a definite plus.
Landon saw her hug herself when the door opened. She seemed nervous, but there wasn't really any reason to be nervous, his family was going to love her. Ilieana would be the happiest of them all mainly because she would have a new friend, someone to drag shopping with her, and leave Landon home. Of course, if Madelyn was going, Landon would probably go just to be there.
The door opened all the way and his mom and dad were both sitting on the couch with Ally laying on moms lap. She must have woken up while Landon was gone. "Hey mom, dad.. This is Madelyn. She just moved into the condos." Landon smiled hugely at them. Landon's mom and dad both got up out of the chair and walked toward Madelyn. "Welcome to Ocean view!" Landon's mom said excitedly and then hugged Madelyn. Landon's eyebrows raised and hoped Madelyn wasn't weirded out by the amount of friendliness there was in his family.
Ilieana walked out of her room and joined in and Ally hopped off the couch. "Who are you?" Ally asked. Landon did a small cute face palm. "She's my friend Al.." He said with a laugh. "Are you his girlfriend!!!?" Ally exclaimed. Landon took a step back and shook his head with embarrassment. "Yeah, she is." Ileana winked, walking into the group. "Sorry." Landon said biting his lip. He didn't know if she would answer Ally's question. It had to be embarrassing for her.
ooc:// well that sucked, and I'm sorry it took so long, I'm in the car right now, i don't know why but my brain isn't working correctly... arghh (written in the car. obviously)

I t was pretty chilly even inside the building what with the strangely cold weather and rain. Maddy figured that it was colder since the air was blowing straight in from the waves but she wasn't an expert and was probably wrong. The fact that the air conditioners were still on full-blast didn't help either. It was probably just kept cold like this throughout the summer.
Madelyn looked down at her hands as she thought of a way to voice her thoughts without sounding dumb. "I...well you've got," Madelyn stopped her explanation when Landon opened the door. Maybe she'd finish what she'd been saying later...maybe not; because right now, four pairs of eyes were focused on her. It didn't bother Maddy when Landon looked at her...that made her stomach feel tingly. But his mom and dad...and a little girl she would presume to be the infamous 'Ally' were people she'd never met. But the moment of truth was now and they seemed to like her alright.
Actually, the both of them got up from their chairs with smiles as Landon introduced Maddy. She smiled back; and gave a small "Hi," waving slightly. She was then trapped in a hug from Landon's mom and smiled a crooked grin as she was hugged tight and then let go. They were friendly...and even Madelyn-the-socially awkward had to admire that. They didn't' even really know her, but still she'd earned a hug? 'Lucky...'
When Landon's mom stepped back from the unexpected embrace, Madelyn stepped back too; standing beside and slightly behind Landon once again. She had barely adjusted to the three new faces around her when another appeared...someone she recognized from the chat: Ilieana.
When Ally asked who she was, Madelyn only smiled and said, "I'm Madelyn...but you can call me Maddy if you want." But she had spoken at the same time as Landon who had said, 'She's my friend, Al.' At that, Madelyn glanced sideways at Landon who was smiling. She was his friend...and liked the sound of that. The next thing that the little girl asked made Madelyn blush and look down at her hands again which were clutching the 'too long' sleeves of her borrowed jacket.
The question had been 'are you his girlfriend?!' Landon had backed up then, bumping her shoulder lightly before looking down; embarrassed. She was about to answer, 'No,' when Ilieana spoke up: 'Yeah, she is.'
Madelyn looked up at Ilieana, slightly shocked but used to being teased by Michael. She cleared her throat, noticing the way Landon's dad's eyes kept flicking back to the television screen. The mom, Ally and Ili though, were still watching Maddy in all her awkwardness. "N-no. I'm...not." She glanced at Landon briefly before looking down again. She then unzipped the jacket which was sort of hard when the sleeves kept getting in the way...but she got it and after pulling it off, handed it to Landon with a small, "Thanks." For letting her use it. She was still blushing.[/blockquote] words;; five hundred something ooc// it was not terrible, you silly billy ^_^ mine wasn't the greatest but imma' blame that on maddy being a new character. xD muse;; ...eh. Landon hoped she didn't think his family was wierd. He did love them with all of his heart but sometimes they were annoying and really embarrasing. It seemed awkward but Landon didn't want it to be that way for her. He wanted to apologe if she felt that way. He was about to take her to his room, away from all the awkward.
"N-no..I'm...not" Madelyn said looking at Landon and then looking down again. She seemed, uncomfertable...and sort of..upset? Landon bit his lip and looked at Madelyn. She took his jacket off and handed back to him with a small 'thanks'. Landon held it but looked at Madelyn still. "Are you sure you don't want to wear it still?" He asked. He felt bad, he didn't know why, but he did.
"Cookies!" He exclaimed setting the jacket down on the nearest chair, if she wanted to wear it still she could. "Theres chocolate chip, sugar, and cinnamon." He said grabbing the plate of cookies. He laughed at his sillyness. He took a chocolate chip cookie and tore part of it off and put it in his mouth. "Yum" He said smiling. "They are fresh too. Just came out of the oven not long ago." Landons mom said.
"By the way, I'm Anne." Landon's mom said now in the kitchen with them. She didn't introduce herself before and neither had his dad, he thought about that after his mom introduced herself.. "I'm John." His dad said walking up, he called that. His dad turned off the tv and joined everyone in the kitchen. He wished his family would stop following them.
"Let's..uhm..go to my room." Landon said grabbing a plate full of cookies with one hand, and grabbing Madelyns hand with the other. "It's just right around this corner." Landon smiled turning the corner. He still had Madelyn's hand, half because he was leading the way, and half just because he wanted to.

“No, I’m fine.” Madelyn said and tried on a reassuring smile; not quite sure if she achieved it. She kind of maybe wanted to wear it still…but for silly reasons. Reason’s like it smelled good and not that she was still cold. Their house was actually kind of warm which was really, really nice.
A minute later, Landon’s eyes lit up when he noticed a plate of cookies…lots of different kinds. Maddy couldn’t help but grin as she noticed his childish behavior. He could probably be a good friend to Michael…they both had an uncanny love for cookies of any kind. Well… except for ones with almonds. Neither Madelyn nor Michael could stand those…
“Nice to meet you,” Madelyn smiled and held out her hand for a handshake as Anne and John introduced themselves. Well…at least she didn’t have to refer to them as Landon’s Mom or Landon’s Dad anymore.
‘Lets uhm…go to my room.’ Landon said hurriedly; grabbing up his plate of cookies and Madelyn’s hand. He told her that it was just around the corner and before she knew it, she’d been pulled away from the small crowd. She giggled—finding Landon’s family amusing. They were…lively.
Still…it was as strange relief to be out of the limelight. Madelyn had always been a quiet person so her lack of communication now was even more proof of that. She liked to think of herself as…thoughtful and undoubtedly shy. “I like your family,” She said; grin still intact.
ooc;; sorry for how short it was... :/

Landon smiled as she met his parents. Usually they were all super protective and asked a kajillion questions to anyone him or Ilieana brought home but I guess they just felt like Madelyn didn't need to be questioned. She just had that resassuring and innocent face or personality that made them seem perfectly fine with her the minute she walked in the door which made Landon happy. Now that this Madelyn person lived right next to him he was probably going to spend alot of time with her, and probably in her house, away from his family.
Landon opened the door to his room and took her inside. "Here it is, my boring room." He laughed. He walked over to his desk and fixed it up a bit, straightening some picture frames. One picture frame had the whole family and Ally was about 2 years old in the picture. The other one was a professional picture of Landon and Ally back to back crossing their arms. “I like your family,” Madelyn said grinning. "Well thanks. I love them, but they are sorta wierd sometimes, but then again, who isn't" He laughed. He sat down on the bed and sighed. He patted the spot next to him on the bed for her to sit down. "So...this is my life..amazing huh?" He joked.
"I don't remember you telling me anything about your life or about your family. I know less about you than I thought.Yet again, there mores to me than you know, not much though. So...tell me about yourself." He smiled. "What's your favorite color, favorite animal, favorite...anything! Tell me!" He smiled trying to make her smile.
He walked over to his ihome and played it on shuffle. 'If I had you' by Adam Lambert came on and her turned it down really low so they could still hear it, but it wouldn't ruin their talking.

"It's not boring," Madelyn said; lips turning up in a grin. If anything; the room was boyish... Though not childish. You could tell that a teenager lived here. Whether that was from the largely sized shoes by the door or a couple of the posters on the wall. There were a couple things like a baseball & football and a video game controller beside the TV. Maddy actually knew a fair amount about video games.
In answer to Landon's comment on his family being weird, she grinned and nodded; thinking of Michael's family again. They were more like family than her one. If a mental institute-mother and business-distant father counted as a family. "But in a good way,"
'So, my life is amazing, huh?' He'd asked and Madelyn came back from her thoughts to say, "Yes...it definitely is." Had he been joking? She really thought it was pretty amazing.
"Well..." Madelyn smiled at the idea of getting to know Landon better. She went to sit on the edge of his bed. It was slightly unmade but she didn't care. "My favorite color is blue. I don't know much about animals...so I'm not sure. My dad never would let me get a pet...so I don't think I can even honestly say... Maybe cats?" She was looking off to the side slightly as she thought out loud. "I..." Pause. What else did he want to know? More easy things like...favorite holidays and childhood memories or family issues?
"I've lived Michael's family since I was four...and at home for a couple months until now... My house isn't like yours though...it's pretty empty." She paused, thinking of a way to voice her words so that they made sense.
"It's... Well I was the only one who lived there." Pause. "I'm still not sure if it was right to move...but in all honesty...if you had been mean to me over the Internet I might not have moved here. I was that close to ruling out the move. But I didn't want to live at home anymore and be alone. You know? It was just...depressing to have such a big house all to yourself. My dad said the only way he would let me live somewhere else was if I moved out completely so that's what I did." Madelyn had been looking at the floor while she'd talked; almost unaware that she'd spilled so much yet so little. He still didn't know about her mom...it was kind of embarrassing. And now she was out of breath.
Then she glanced at Landon and blushed slightly as she said, "Sorry...I'm probably boring you. Anything else you wanna' hear?" She smiled hopefully...actually feeling better to have said some of that stuff out loud. She'd never really talked to people about her family. ooc;; still not very good but its a reply xP

"But in a good way," Madelyn said back to the my family is weird comment. "I suppose it's in a good way. Sometimes it can be in a bad way, like..an embarrassing way or something. But I love them anyway. They are pretty much all I've ever had" He half smiled. He wanted to have a full out huge smile but something inside him kept him from doing that. All the memories and thoughts kept running through his mind that made the comment 'all Ive ever had' slightly depressing to him.
Madelyn said 'yes it definitely is' back to Landon's slightly sarcastic question pertaining to his life. She sounded more seriously than Landon implied it. The way she said 'yes' made him almost regret the way he said it. He thought about it and his life really was amazing at times. Like right now, he was with a beautiful girl, in a well sheltered home, with a view of the ocean, and a wonderful family with him. That was quite amazing to him.
Landon intently listened as Madelyn told him her favorite color. It was blue, and so was his. She said she didn't really know her favorite animal because she didn't know much about them. 'How do you not know anything about animals' he thought to himself. I guess you can not know alot about them so it'll make it difficult to pick but usually people have a favorite animal picked out. "Well, my favorite color is blue also" He smiled. "My favorite animal is..a penguin!" He laughed. Penguins also made him laugh, they were such funny things. He loved how they are birds but they can't fly. Simple and small things easily amuse him.
Madelyn said that she lived with Michael since she was four. And that she moved back home for a couple of months until moving to OVA. He was curious, why did she live with Michael at such an early age. And what had lead her to move there. He was missing something. He would have to ask her about that, but he didn't want to be all up in her business.
"Well you have a new house now...or condo I guess. And with my help, and my sisters help it wont be empty or boring, trust me. Michael will visit and he will love it." Landon said positive, and quickly before Madelyn talked anymore. He didn't wanna steal her thunder. His sister was pretty talented though, when it came to decorating, so she would most definitely help set up the condo for Madelyn if she got asked.
Maddie continued talking after a pause. She explained that she wasn't really sure about moving here and if Landon had acted any different on the Internet she most likely would have reconsidered everything and just stayed where she was. Which made sense. Why move into a condo, knowing that there was a jerk there. Honestly living alone sounds better than living with a jerk any day, so he didn't blame her one bit. He thought he acted pretty nice on the Internet though, if anything was going to scare her away at that time it would have been Ilieana with all the embarrassing and silly things she said. But she was just being a typical sister.
In a big empty house...alone, was pretty much the explanation of what she had to do for a few months. He wouldn't have liked that at all. He would have been a baby for one and probably would have been scared something was going to pop out of the closet like a 5 year old would. And he would also feel lonely. He couldn't imagine not having at least Ilieana there beside him.
"Well your live at the condo now, with me and Ilieana and the rest of my family. Just come over anytime you want, most of the time just walk in, don't even knock. You can just make yourself at home and chill out. You will fit right in, I promise! It'll be awesome having you here." He smiled trying to make her feel more reassured.
Landon laughed when she said he was probably boring her right now. "Oh please. You couldn't possibly be boring me. What else would I be doing right now if you werent here... I'd probably be sleeping or something uninteresting like that." He laughed again. how could she possibly think anything she was saying or doing was boring, at the least it was intriguing him. It made him want to know more and more about her. It clicked 5 seconds later that she had also asked him if he wanted to know anything else about her. "Uhm...I don't really want to sound personal...but I was curious. Why did you move in with Michael when you were only four. And why were you forced to move back into the empty lonely house." He asked, hoping he wouldn't upset her by asking those questions. They were just things that stood out as unanswered to him.
Landon looked over to his door that was still a little bit open. "Excuse me" He said before just up and leaving for a few seconds. He quietly closed the door so he didn't attract family members. "I figured I should close that, I don't really feel like having everyone hearing our conversation, or just walking in randomly. If you know what I mean." He walked over to the window and opened in letting a bunch of sun in. Enough sun that lead him back near his door to turn the unnecessary light off. He looked outside for a second, it was a perfect view of the ocean. He smiled and then sat back by Madelyn on the bed. "Sorry about that." He apologized. Maybe it gave her a little more time to think though. Rather than just putting her on the spot and not giving her time to breathe. [/font][/blockquote] word count:// 1013! "Kay thanks," Madelyn laughed and tucked her legs up Indian-style. She couldn't picture herself barging into somebody's home practically unannounced...she was more the conservative type. But...she might come by if things got to boring. Especially if this boy were here to visit. *insert girly mind-giggle*
"I suppose it was a good decision then, huh?" She smiled and touched Landon briefly because he was sitting so close and just cos' it was a regular gesture. She kept thinking about how much fun it wasn't going to be to buy new furniture. Yeah sure she had entirely too much money to furnish the condo...but it couldn't be fun. Unless she didn't have to go alone... She made a mental note to ask later.
And in response to her harmless question, he asked it. Why did she live with Michael? Why'd she have to live alone. It was explanation time but how much was she going to give? "I live alone." She paused, "Lived alone because my mom's been...sick since I was little and my dad's always away. I wish you and Ilieana could've been my neighbors then." She stopped, wondering how life would've gone if they had grown up with Maddy and Michael. Would Landon and Michael be friends? And her and Ili?
"And I lived with Michael because I was too young to live alone...until recently. But turns out I don't like living alone because I moved here." Madelyn stopped then, looking up and tossing a hopefully light-hearted smile to Landon. She'd kind of just spilled her guts so hopefully he didn't think anything bad about it.
It had just then registered to Maddy that he'd gotten up to shut the door. Apparently she'd been so wrapped up in her dumb old life story that she hadn't noticed. And also, he'd opened the window which was letting in brilliant rays of sunlight. The air was noticeably less stuffy and it smelled a bit like the sea and a bit like rain. So, she almost flew to the window and gripped the edge, leaning out and taking in the view.
"Wow...this place is gorgeous when it isn't raining cats and dogs." She turned to glance at Landon then, with a pretty smile in place. She was in a very good mood considering what she'd just been talking about.

Landon's face lit up and his mouth formed into a brilliant smile when Madelyn assured him that her moving was a good decision. "I totally agree. You will enjoy it so much." He smiled. He felt like he was acting like a little kid, but she just made him so happy.
Madelyn answered his question that he asked about her living with Michael. She said something about her mother and father and how she had to live alone and stuff. He felt alot of sympathy for her, even though the beginning of his life was full of sympathy. "Yeah. I wish we had been neighbors then also. I'm sure we all would have gotten along great and would have been great friends. Though, now is better than never." He said. It was true. They could all become best friends now, it was better than never.
A little bit after Landon had opened the window to let some sun in Maddie shot out of where she was sitting and was up against the window looking out at the view. "Wow...this place is gorgeous when it isn't raining cats and dogs." Madelyn said admiring the view every second that passed by. "Beautiful isn't it. It's one of my favorite parts about living here. Expect....after today. I think you may have gotten into that list." He winked.
He walked up to the window where she was and stood directly beside her where their shoulders were nearly touching. "This is extremely random. But I don't think I've told you yet, which seems kinda weird." He said shifting over to the other side of her. He reached toward the window and open up the screen so there was nothing between them and the outdoors. "Anyway. Theres another girl that lives in the condos. Shes a really close family friend and her name is Abby. You will definatly have to meet her. You guys would probably get along great. Other than me, shes one of Ilieanas best friends. And shes also one of my best friends." Landon babbled on.
"Our parents have been really close friends. Ever since high school I believe. And when we were all 3 we were introduced to each other. And thats where that friendship starts. The whole story of how we met and stuff is....well...It's kinda interesting but sad to a certain extent for me." Landon said. He probably had Madelyn's curiousty peaked at its highest right now. He knew he couldn't stop talking now but he figured he would let her get a word or two in before he went into his life story about how he was adopted and all that.
Landon still couldn't believe that after this whole time with her there hasn't been a word about Abby in one of their conversations. Abby was one of his closest friends, how could be not mention her. Plus, she was someone else that Madelyn could be friends with. Someone to make her feel more welcomed and make her feel better at this town. Being the new person in a town with no friends would definatly be hard. She should be glad that she met Landon. [/blockquote]

Landon's brilliant smile brought Maddy's back full force: just because it was that kind of smile. It sort of lit up the room...kind of. Then, she looked away; still smiling. He'd said that 'now was better than never' which was actually a pretty good point. She couldn't wait to introduce Landon to Michael because honestly...anybody could get along with Mike. That's just the way it always was.
Maddy jumped slightly when she noticed Landon standing beside her but then she flashed another smile and just sighed; loving the way the day had gone. How was it possible for her to start the day crying, scared of what the move would bring to smiling with what was likely to be the hottest guy in town at her side. Quite a turn-about, really.
A little while later, the screen had been pushed away and it was just them and outside; nothing in-between. She couldn't wait till they...she...could go to the beach. It would only be better if Landon could go too. And then, at his comment about her being added to the list of reasons he loved to live here...she blushed. A lot. What did one say to that?
Their shoulders bumped. Big deal right? Well...Madelyn made a big deal of it in her head, as silly as that was. She felt happy all over again just because of it. And then... Landon began to talk about a girl. It wasn't just what he said that made her eyes get big, but the way he said it. She moved herself back onto the bed in the Indian style leg cross again.
A girl named Abby was someone who him; his whole family was close to. They'd known each other basically forever and ever and had been best friends for just as long. As he went into the explanation, Madelyn nodded to show that she was, in fact, listening and listening good. What was it about this random story that made her mood drop a couple levels? Absently, she hugged herself and continued to look across the horizon. The sun was setting beautifully now and it looked warm...though she was beginning to feel cold again.
"She sounds...special." Maddy said with a small smile that didn't quite reach her eyes. What...was she jealous? Or intruding? The way he talked about Abby made Madelyn's mind go to the conclusion that they were 'a thing'. And...it wasn't like Maddy and Landon were a thing either so it shouldn't matter, right? ooc;; lol wrong account ... dont kill me for how awful this is D:

Landon noticed she blushed an extreme amount when he mentioned that she was now added to the list of reasons that he absolutely loved living there. It was so true. He was excited. In the future he hoped they would be together, it'd be perfect. Abby, Ilieana and Madelyn would all be great friends but when they wanted to go out on girly nights out he would have to steal her from time to time.
He could tell that Maddy was getting a bit edgy as he told her about Abby and how close the two were. Madelyn looked a bit cold though. He thought about wrapping one of his blankets around her but he figured that she would prefer his jacket, so he got his jacket off the chair that was sitting in the corner of the room and wrapped it around her shoulders. "You looked cold. That any better?" He flashed a school boy smile that you just had to love.
"Doesn't the sunset look amazing?" He said looking out the window with Madelyn at the sun that was now setting after a rainy day. The clouds were clearing away enough to where the sun was peaking out and it looked perfect over the ocean. "I love having my window facing towards the ocean, the sight is always so beautiful, and of course ...people watching is always enjoyable." He said, taking a glance down to the street that was still quite busy with people walking around. He walked over to his bed and sat down next to Madelyn.
Madelyn said that Abby sounded special. Her tone came off, irritated almost...jealous more so. Landon didn't really like it, he didn't mean to make her feel that way, he didn't like Abby like that at all. "Well...yes, she is special, very special. But not in the way you might think. We kind of have a back story to this whole thing. We've known each other since about 3 years old." He smiled at Madelyn who was still sitting next to him. He grabbed her hand and let his fingers intertwine with his.
"Okay, here's the story. I'll try not to bore you to death." He laughed. The story was kind of serious but it was 14 years ago and he was kind of, in a weird way, glad it had happened. "Well...My sister Ilieana and I...we are actually adopted." He breathed. He didn't really know if she would take it great. It wasn't that big of a deal, he couldn't figure out why he was so nervous.
"It all started when we were just little bitty babies. Our real mother, she didn't want us, for lack of a better term. She just dropped us off at the nearest orphanage, sad really. They took us in and we were soon adopted. We were lucky, we got amazing parents. I couldn't imagine being with anyone else but them." He smiled, realizing that even though he came from an orphanage, he really did have a good life.
"The whole Abby thing. That came in three years later. Abby's whole story, I don't know if she wants me telling someone I just met, but I trust you, so I will tell you." He explained before going into her history. "She was abused, a lot as a child. It was actually quite traumatizing." His radiant smile then formed into a frown. "At age three she was finally taken out of custody of the people in that household and put into an adoption place. She also was adopted soon after. The people who adopted her just happened to be really good friends with my..adoptive parents. That's really how we met. It's more sad on Abby's end, but all together, I'm glad it happened. I love my life." He sighed hugely, finally getting a breathe. He hadn't talked that much in a long time.
He figured he would let Madelyn jump in and start making a response now, he talked enough as it was. ~ The rain brought in that lovely smell of rain that most everyone loved. How could you not? It was amazing. It filled the room and Landon took a huge breathe of it. "Goodness, I love that smell." He smiled and repositioned himself on the bed to where his body was facing her. [/blockquote]

"Thanks," She smiled and looked down to the ground, gripping the edges of the worn black fabric as a slow smile took over her face. She could feel the familiar heat of a blush work it's way up her neck and to her cheeks and ears. If the jacket hadn't done the trick, Landon's cute little smile sure did...and so did the sunset. She'd never seen one like it before and especially hadn't enjoyed watching it like she did then and there. "It's beautiful," She said quietly, a little in awe.
Madelyn watched Landon closely but pretended she wasn't... her stare was full of small blushes and looking away; she just couldn't help it. When somebody that handsome is in front of you, let alone holding your hand its a bit hard to keep composure. For both of their sakes though, Madelyn tried her hardest not to melt into a puddle of goo at his touch.
She was pretty darn sure he would never bore her to death... it didn't really matter what he said, she realized, as long as Landon was speaking she'd listen and probably follow along like a lost puppy. She kind of was like a lost puppy though... kind of. When he told her that he and Ilieana were adopted, she squeezed his hand a bit tighter. Her strength was really very minimal but it should have had the same effect... a comforting gesture and all that. She continued to switch her blue eyes from their connected hands (man his were warm) and his eyes, sure to give the appropriate sympathetic looks in all the right places.
"Wow," she said a moment later. Madelyn wasn't sure whether or not she should give him a hug or just stay where she was...she didn't know if she'd ever be strong enough to make it through adoption. She was kind of weak and quiet. One to fade into the background.
"It sounds really scary," she said, glancing up with big round eyes, "But I'm glad it all worked out for you, Landon. And I'm sorry about Abby." Her mouth quirked to the side and she leaned to the side, her shoulder briefly leaning against Landon's... it was an accident and her cheeks flared with color once again. "Whoops," her voice was quiet, then.
She supposed he might want her whole story... but she didn't know that she wanted to give it up yet. Was it fair to let him spill his guts only for her to keep to herself? Probably not. :/

"I agree." Landon said at the beauty of the sunset. The sun was slowly sinking down now though, almost out of site. The room started to instantly fill with darkness. "I hope one of the rooms in your condo are facing this direction. It's really one of the best parts about living here, it's just relaxing." He smiled, but the sky turned dark. He hopped up and closed the shades and then sprinted over to the lamp to turn it on to fill the room with some kind of light. Being in a dark room would probably creep Madelyn out.
"Wow." was the only faint noise that came out of Madelyn's mouth after Landon had told her the story. but after a few moments of an almost awkward silence she picked back up. "Scary, yes. For Abby more though, we had been lucky enough to find a family soon, I only wish Abby had been taken out of custody earlier, I feel sorry for her. There are literally scars on her body, places from where she had been hit. She covers them mostly, for the sake of question rising from other people. But it's all okay now. I just figured I would tell you. So you could get some perspective on my life, so... I'm not a complete stranger." He sighed. A smile or laugh didn't seem right for the moment, but yet...neither did a frown.
Landon could tell Madelyn got easily embarrassed, as her cheeks would flash with red from time to time, though it was really cute to him. A short, sighish 'whoops' came out of her mouth as she accidentally leaned against him. He couldn't help but let a small laugh come out. He put his arm around her shoulders and sighed really huge. "I'm really going to enjoy having you here."
His door flew open in an instant, hitting the wall and making a bang from being opened to fast. "Iliena...what do you want." Landon rolled his eyes, quickly removing his arm from Madelyn's shoulder. "Mom told me to come check on you guys." Ilieana winked. "Yeah well we are fine."
Landon stood up and faced Madelyn, reaching his arm down to help her up off the bed. "You know...today not over for another 4 hours" He said looking at the clock that read 8:00 P.M. "We could always go into your apartment Maddie, and get some decor plans going, with the help of Ilieana, we could even get Abby to help if you want. Anyone up for it.?" He asked. He didn't know what else to do, so that plan sounded good.
"Yeah, I'm up for it, I have nothing better to do." Ilieana smiled. She walked over to the door that had banged against the wall, checking to see if any damage had been done and then looked back up at Landon and Madelyn who were still in the same spot. "Woops" She shrugged, to the tiny almost unnoticeable dent that had been made on the door. (:

"I'd love to meet her sometime," Madelyn said quietly. She would... she had never really known anyone (not anyone that young) with so many scars; literal and figurative. "And...this may sound completely stupid but I never really considered you a stranger." She was wearing a small smile and just felt...happy. No real worries--definitely sitting here with Landon, no fears--just warmth and an odd sense of familiarity. Not that she'd ever been in Landon's room before and then not that she'd mind if she had been. Anyway.
It didn't seem to matter to her new friend, how easily embarrassed she could be and she liked that. In a way, it gave her encouragement to be more... well 'brave' wasn't exactly the right word but it was the same idea. She suddenly wanted to know more about Landon... more than his past troubles and favorite color. Maddy wanted to know the little things... what did he look like in the morning, just after getting out of bed? What was his favorite flavour of ice cream or maybe who his best friend was. The things that made him himself. She really could only hope that she'd be able to find those things out for herself because the thought of living so close to such a beautiful boy--inside and out, from what she could tell--and not really knowing him? Well that seemed almost like a sin in itself.
When Madelyn had leaned on Landon, he'd leaned right back and put his arm around her shoulders. She wasn't going to tell him so, but the gesture felt so nice she almost wanted to cry or smile or start laughing. Instead, she only sighed contentedly and then jumped out of her skin when Landon's bedroom door banged against the wall. She gasped, jumping away from Landon for whatever reason, as if some odd spell had been broken and she was back to being her old, shy self again.
It was his sister, Iliena and she was coming to check on them. What had they thought the two of them were doing? Madelyn flushed again and looked away, not even noticing that the sun had set or that Landon had closed the window and turned on the lamp. Weird.
After about five seconds of zoning out, she looked up at Landon to find he'd asked her a question. She had to think for a minute to remember what it was and then realized it hadn't even been a question at all. He'd said the day wasn't over yet which meant he wasn't gonna make her go home alone or at least, not at first.
When she thought of home, she thought of their big empty house in Megalopolis that echoed when you wore the wrong kind of shoes in the hall and smelled like lemon floor cleaner and bleach. It was a cold place, lonely. That's why she left and maybe, that's why she felt a little bit afraid to explore her new home. 'What if it was anything like the old one?', her mind wondered? 'Well then I'll fix it up'. Her internal conversation probably made her seem crazy but the whole thing took place very quickly.
"I'd love that," Madelyn found herself saying and then laughing slightly at Iliena's mistake. She was a little bit glad she hadn't had to spill the sob story about her old life. This was the new life and a new start... and she knew without a doubt that if anyone was to know about her old life, the first one to know would be Landon Hall. The boy next door.
