The sharp wind shot across the abandoned train tracks, long unruly grass blew in dead brown clumps. The wind prickled in Carter's ears and blew his hair up and away; styling it into crazy twists and knots...it looked like bedhead. Fortunately though, Carter could make bedhead look alright. The day was leaning towards evening and the air only became more and more chilly. Cold air helped to clear his head though, so Carter stayed; only pulling his jacket a little bit tighter around his shoulders.
To an outsider, Carter probably looked depressed...though deep in thought was more true. This place, this was where he went to think; to this abandoned train station. Sure it wasn't new and shiny--actually it was extremely run down but it was private.
With a gusty sigh, Carter leaned back against a boarded up door as the cloying scent of spilled gasoline filled the air. He wondered what kind of melodramatic person would sit alone like he was; brooding about life. For the next little while, he leaned his head back and tried to just clear his mind...eyes closed, Carter accidentally fell asleep.

Carter was dreaming of the train tracks, the train station when it was running. The setting was maybe...1899 or 1900 because the people were dressed in that kind of clothing. The place really could be cool if it still worked...though there was some kind of abandoned charisma that the rust and broken boards added. In the dream, Carter was also dressed in the old-attire and he was trying to sell thin yellowing newspapers. No one wanted to buy one though...he was sad about that in the dream. He was even more upset when he tripped over seemingly nothing and dropped the loose papers. They went fluttering into the breeze, onto the train-tracks. Not knowing why, Carter had the feeling that he had to get those papers. Maybe he'd be in trouble if he let them get smushed? With panic written across his features, he lunged for the separating stack. He'd just finished gathering them when he looked up and saw the train coming. *Thud* It hit him hard in the ribs and knocked the air away.
Carter woke up, gasping from the horrid dream and the too-realistic pain."Agh," Clutching his stomach he looked up and nearly had a heart attack. The space above him was occupied by a girl roughly Carter's age. She looked angry and Carter wasn't exactly sure why. He was just glad she was wearing clothes from 2010 and not 1900.
"Sorry," The girl said and looked something over, the back object in her hands. It took a moment for Carter's eyes to focus. With one hand still pressed to his hurt side, he rubbed his eyes until everything became clear. The girl looked clearly angry now, maybe only remotely sorry and what she was holding was a camera. If anything, Carter was very, very confused.

Carter was still in his sleepy daze...something he'd dealt with since infancy. It had always taken him a few minutes to regain composure after being asleep...maybe he just really, really got into counting those sheep. Eventually, the haze began to fade and the realization of where he was had hit. He was still at the old tracks and the sun had moved across the horizon. 'How long have I been asleep?' Stifling a yawn, Carter Sat up a little bit straighter. Somehow, sometime in the dream he'd ended up sort of sprawled by the old wall. Dirt decorated his jeans though it was easy enough to wipe away.
"You...you must've. I'm sure you didn't mean to though." Carter rubbed the back of his head; efficiently messing up his hair even more than before if that were possible. His voice was low, still gravely from his little nap but clearing it helped a million. So this girl; she just stood there and stared. Carter wasn't sure what exactly he was expected to do...did he know her? He didn't think so but his social spectrum was vast. After more than a few minutes of uninterrupted silence, the girl got back up from her position there beside Carter she said: "My name's Jazmine Hendrix." And then asked for Carters name. Using the wall as support, Carter got up. He felt stiff and sore from sleeping the way he had but he extended his hand for her to shake anyway. "Carter Williams. It's...nice to meet you." Smiling at the irony of that, Carter stretched his arms above his head. A yawn leaked its way out for which he apologized.
"So...What brings you here? It's usually deserted....that's why I was laying there. I didn't intend to trip you. Sorry bout' that." With a small sigh and a semi-hopeful/still kind of sleepy smile he cleared his throat. Never had he seen a single other person in this place...except for today. He couldn't help but think it strange.

"No, no, it's fine...I think I'll live." Carter smiled, stretching his back again and wincing; still he was fine. A bad back was nothing to cry about...a trip to the chiropractor would fix it though he was too stubborn to go and not about to admit it.
The girl seemed kind of offensive...Carter wondered if he'd ever done her wrong and hadn't remembered. As far as he knew, he hadn't been rude to anyone lately--definitely not enough to cause somebody to become angry or to hold a grudge. Jazmine kicked some gravely dirt which skittered across the cracked cement and out of sight before shrugging. Apparently she was just here on a whim which wasn't exactly foreign to Carter.
A few minutes later, she'd explained that her home was lonely...too lonely to be comfortable which Carter also understood. A mom and a dog wasn't really a lot to occupy yourself with and definitely not enough for a Hallmark-Card-Worthy family portrait. Maybe it was good for a single parenting ad... "I just come here to think, y'know? It's...quiet and this place just has character. It feels...it seems familiar. That's probably silly but..."
Carter was blabbering on with that silly way his mind worked and was planning on continuing but then he noticed a strange look flash across Jazmine's eyes and he became worried. Not as worried, though as when she gripped at her neck as if in pain or suffering--which he could understand. Before you could say the word 'Fall', she was down. Her outfit would be dirty like Carters had been but that didn't seem so important. Even more worried than before, Carter's protective side flared to life."Whoa,,,"
Not really thinking, just acting, he fell to his knees beside her and moved the dark hair away from her eyes. "What's wrong?" The way her eyes shined couldn't mean anything other than tears...and girls crying was something Carter really didn't like. "Hey, it's okay...I'm...sorry." With a slight frown, Carter moved back a little, sitting like Jazmine had before; a position similar to that of a catcher. The concern in his eyes was clearly evident...he wanted to help but had not the slightest idea how. That bugged him.

"Anything that makes you cry can't be silly." Carter smiled a small but reassuring smile and sat down beside Jazmine. He'd do this for anybody though Jazmine seemed to need his...presence the most now. Somebody who was there somebody to talk to. Everybody did every once in a while. For Carter, it was his dog though Robbie wasn't exactly the best at reassurances, he was, in fact, a good listener. After a little bit of silence, she sighed and grabbed her camera up from the ground beside her, checked her reflection in the lens and set it back down on the ground. "Don't worry, you look great." Carter said, looking sideways slightly and smiling. She really had nothing to worry about.
"Umm, yeah. Everything's okay..." That sounded like an alternate version of Carter's 'I'm fine' line. And because he knew how that went, he also knew she was lying. Besides weren't 'I'm fine,' and 'I'm okay' the biggest lies in America?
A few minutes later though, the lie was told in truth; Jazmime told him that she had a scar that was almost fatal--it happened when she was younger. The worst part--her parents had inflicted it. It didn't take a psychic to figure her home-life...abuse--maybe not frequent abuse but the kind that wasn't subtle.
As maybe a gesture of sympathy; maybe even just to show she wasn't alone in everything that had happened, Carter pushed the hair away from his eyes. The small but jagged scar there above his eye was hard to miss. It wasn't ugly, really more characteristic but still, it was there. "This is from when I was little. My mom says its from when I was a baby but she's always been too ashamed to tell me how it happened...so I really have no idea. It's not as bad as yours...I'm sorry for what happened to you." Carter sighed and let his hands drop down to his sides. His hair flopped back down over the scar, nearly into his eyes like normal and voila! A normal teenager...more or less.
The air had turned cool but it wasn't unpleasant...a small breeze even turned up and it blew some of the bad smells away. The place they were hanging out in seemed happier, even, than the topic they were on and it was abandoned. Still, Carter was content to be in Jazmine's company...he only hoped she felt the same way and not annoyed; some might say his persistence in helping was too much.

Jazmine told Carter thanks~ which he assumed meant a lot, coming from her. He looked over just in time to see her oddly reddish eyes twinkling. "You're welcome," He sort of mumbled, and turned to look forward. They were both silent for a moment as Carter looked down and fiddled with the hem of his shirt. He felt...kind of careless but still really caring at the same time. Like he could just float off into the sky and be okay with it. Really he felt like a little kid again in the sense that everything seemed to be okay, even when it really honestly wasn't.
Sitting there, Carter let his fingers graze the edge of his guitar that had been discarded since before his nap. It was kind of just sitting there; like another old friend. "I wish I didn't know how I got this stupid scar. It might have been easier to forget You might not know how you got yours, but I do..." Carter cocked his head to the side at that...he'd never really thought of it that way. His mother had once said, 'ignorance is bliss'. At the notice of Jazmine's voice softening, Carter looked up. She took a deep breath, smiled and then laughed almost nervously. He had the feeling he was about to be told something important...maybe something repressed or reserved and so he didn't want to take it lightly.
Carter scooted a little bit so that he could sort of face Jazmine while she talked. Pulling his knees up, he wrapped his long-wiry arms around them and rested his chin on his arm--ready for a story. He learned that she was sixteen...the same age. She admitted to being abused and told the extent of it which was horrifying to hear. How could a mother laugh as her daughter was almost killed? What kind of sick person would punish their kid that way? The kind that died of drug overdoses, he concluded as she told him her parents ends. He couldn't imagine staying in the house of her imprisonment or torture. He would've left ASAP. Possibly the most surprising part; or at least the part that tied with the surprise of her abuse was the news of her ability to look into peoples' past and pull out information. Carter's wasn't really available or so she said and he found himself wishing that it had been. He'd always wondered what his dad looked like and why his mom had started drinking; why her eyes always darkened when Carter's dad was mentioned. Again though, maybe he was being spared the details. 'Ignorance is bliss,' He thought again and sighed. Jazmine said that the two of them were sort of alike, something Carter wouldn't deny though he wished--for Jazmine's and his own sake--that they weren't. It wasn't exactly on the best circumstances that they were relatable.
"I won't tell anybody if you don't want me to...it can be our secret. Think of it this way, you're free of all those secrets. I won't judge you..." He let his sentence draw off as he looked up from the patch of grass his eyes had been fixed on. "Hey, there' a smile. You should smile more often." Carter noted, smiling a larger version of his earlier grin. It was only the truth.
Sighing again, Carter flipped his hair out of the way. "My story is less interesting by far, I promise. I'll sum it up for you: single parent, only child. Dad's not in the picture...actually I don't even know his name. I just know that he left when I was three...Anyway, I've got a dog - Robbie and he's my best friend. And..." Carter grinned, looking for one more thing to add. "I play guitar!" With a cheesy grin, he motioned to the still and scuffed guitar that sat to their left.

"Hey, no problem. I just know that if the situations were reversed, if I were you and you were me, I'd wish the same from you. And your...snappiness is nothing compared to my mother...eesh."[/b][/color] Winking, Carter let go of his knees and let them slide down straight in front of him. "And you may not know this...you're talking to the best secret keeper in town." After saying that though, he realized that comparing Jazmine to his mother probably wasn't the best thing...he had meant it in the lightest, nicest possible way.
Giggling, Jazmine leaned back and said that Carter had a nice smile too. With a small bow--all that sitting down could allow--he smiled again; his best smile and said, "Thankyou, Thankyou," kind of goofily.
Carter was pleased that Jazmine had listened to his story as well...even though her ears were probably bleeding from the lack of anything worth telling. She probably only heard BLAH, BLAH, BLAH. If so, he'd understand. Obviously though, she had been listening to at least part of it because she'd said it was awesome that he could play. At that, he smiled again, sort of proudly. It was pretty much his only talent outside of social skills. And good looks-[ooc; just kidding! ]
"Well, I think it's awesome that you love photography...I can honestly say that I've never tried taking pictures." Pursing his lips, Carter wondered if he should ever try. Maybe he'd be a famous photographer someday...probably not. More than likely, "Well, when your photography makes you famous, look me up." Winking again, he crossed his legs and nodded. "Nature is gorgeous."
"A song? Oh lord. Well...I plan on being famous so this must be a start. Promise not to laugh, though cause I wrote this one." A small but charming smile lit up his face. Carter shed his jacket, feeling hot. Cleaing his throat, he picked up the guitar and sat on an empty wooden crate that was just beside them. Assuming a comfortable possition, he cleared his throat yet again and flashed Jazmine a nervous smile. "It's called ' A Lovely Sound'." (ooc; plz listen to song as you read! link below. xD)
He started the beginning notes, and then looked down as the song began, "Over fall break you're comin' down to see me. I know that the distance doesn't make this easy. But when we come together it makes such a lovely sound. That's why I'd give anything I have to work this out." Carter was getting into it now, he wasn't nervous anymore. Only smiling because this was what he loved.
"And everything I ever did didn't matter up 'till now. You make my life worth while like you've completed me somehow. And when we come together it makes such a lovely sound. That's why I'd give anything I have to work this out. For the first time in my life I know that I'm in love. I could write a thousand songs about you, they would never be enough. When we come together it makes such a lovely sound. That's why I'd give anything I have to work this out."
Ending the song with a tremendous grin, he sighed. Would he have a fan or a hater? Who knew. She was the first to hear him play it.

"Thank you," He said, practically glowing. 'Really talented?' It was new to be complemented like that...he'd never had the courage to sing in front of people before...but if Jazmine liked it then would other people maybe like it too? Or was she just being nice? Singing and playing guitar for people though--or so he was just finding out--was a tremendous adrenaline booster. He felt great; invincible maybe. At least to airy to sit.
After Carter had stood up, he didn't really know what to do but he was still smiling. "I'm sure I could laugh at it if I were hearing it back." He knew that he'd made some mistakes but they were minor and hard to pick out if you weren't the one who wrote the song. Thinking about what Jazmine had just said; that he didn't need her help to become famous, he jumped off the platform that they were both sitting on and down onto the tracks-- a brave move after that dream. It left him kind of uneasy though he was still too happy to really care. 'Does she really think I could be famous?' The thought struck him as funny. Carter Williams; famous? It sounded like a lie or a fairy tale.
Wearing his interesting pair of brown Chuck Taylor converse, balance was easy as he walked along the tracks' rail. Back and forth, arms slightly raised for balance. "I could teach you...guitar." Glancing over to see her reaction, he smiled. Maybe she wouldn't want to learn...maybe she would. Carter knew that he wouldn't mind spending more time with her...getting to know her. He knew her life-story but not her. At least he didn't know as much as he'd like to.

"Yeah, I would!" He was still looking at his feet, trying not to slip off the rail but he was sincere. He'd never tried to teach anybody before but honestly, how hard could it be? Right? "I'd love it too." He glanced at Jazmine from the corner of his eye before smiling a small and insignificant smile. She was pretty cute...now that he thought about it; she was really cute. Carter had always been pretty clueless when it came to girls but it was hard to ignore this one...
Carter had been so caught up in his thoughts that he was completely caught off guard as he was ambushed with a hug. "Hi there," He grinned, holding his arms up kind of awkwardly before dropping them to lightly hug her back. A half second later, she stepped away and Carter looked away too. Truth be told he was sort of blushing. Trying to hide it, he looked down but then blinked in surprise as a flash caught him of guard for the second time. "I wanted a picture of the famous Carter Williams! If that's okay with you..." Jazmine smiled and Carter blinked, still sort of blinded from the close flash. Now, Jazmine had captured Carter blushing...she'd have that moment in time on film. He could only hope it was a good picture. "Sure, sure. But only if I get a picture of my new soon-to-be-famous photographer friend." With a wink, Carter looked back up; his expression amused. "I think we should take a picture together too. Just one for the record book." Devious grin in place, Carter stuck his hands in his pockets and waited for a response.
A few minutes later, Jazzy--an inside nickname--asked if he wanted to get something to eat which sounded like a fantastic idea. "That sounds great. And that reminds me...I was supposed to go grocery shopping." With a short laugh, Carter continued. "We're out of pretty much everything at home. Except for bread." Looking down, Carter saw his bony ribs through the shirt and stuck his stomach out...it didn't make a huge difference. And as if it were told to, his stomach growled.
When Jazmine told him about her car, not only a car but Lamborghini... he almost died. "I keep forgetting that you're rich...that's amazing though. The only other person I know that has one is my friend Jinx's dad." Carter shook his head at the thought of his Crazy best friend. "You should meet him sometime." He knew that that introduction would be interesting.

Jazmine took the picture of him, herself and the both of them; all of which were impressive as hell as far as photography went. "It does. I guess it's proven then. You're a legitimate photographer Jazmine." Smiling, he hopped up onto the platform again and held his hand out for Jazmine to get up too.
"Well, how lucky am I?" Grinning, he bent over to retrieve his jacket and stranded guitar. Jazmine said something along the lines of 'lets get out of here' and he didn't have to be told twice. It wasn't that he didn't like the tracks anymore, more like; 'Carter is really hungry.' On their walk back to the car, Jazmine shivered and he held out his soft jacket; it smelled like him and his cologne. He wasn't really cold anyway. "Hey, take this if you're cold." Smiling as they approached the car, he just then realized that she'd agreed to meet Jinx. He honestly couldn't wait till then...he was quite the character.
"Anyway...Jinx; he's one crazy guy. Nice and funny and all that but I'd have to warn you. Watch out for Jinx. He'd flirt with a wall." With a short laugh, Carter thought of his friend. They hadn't hung out in a couple days...he was going through withdrawals.
The conversation was light and flowing until they reached the car. The--correction--Lamborghini. "Wow..." He probably looked like an idiot with his mouth hanging open like that but it was kind of impossible not to stare. Especially when a car that you know could never possibly be yours is right in front of you. Since the drivers door was closest, Carter opened it for Jazmine, walked around the front of the car; casually and sat gingerly in the passenger seat. It would be just like him to break the Three hundred thousand dollar vehicle.
Laughing at Jazmine's comment, he said, "Ha-ha. Actually I like this song..." The radio had come on automatically to a pretty cool station. Figuring that Jazmine wouldn't mind, he sang the lyrics quietly. "Mm...just somewhere with food." He grinned, especially as his stomach growled monster-loud.

"Thanks," Carter laughed and switched the station once it turned to some form of hardcore rap and country music mixed...he'd call that 'c-rap'. The next song that came on was Whoever she is by The Maine; it was a song he liked. His favorite part was when John--the lead singer-- sang 'you don't have to woryyy' and it was all long and kind of funny...just because of that; he had to sing it too but with a smile still plastered on his face. That smile was pretty much always there.
"Nah, you're fine I do the same thing. Actually I don't really have focus right now. I'm that hungry," he joked and then sighed. They were still on the highway and the sun was starting to go down. He could barely make out the neon letters 'Mindy's Grill' which was somewhere he knew well.
At Jazmine's comment of how she'd probably break Carter's eardrums with her un-used voice, Carter only shook his head no. She couldn't be that bad. He was inclined to think that she was probably talented that way but only modest.
The car ride had gone faster than he'd planned...'Time flies when you're having fun'. When they stopped, Carter opened his door and got out; stretching his arms way above his head and yawning. He would bet pretty much anyone money that his hair was really really messed up at the moment but he couldn't really care all that much. It was only hair right? And he was huuungry. "Thanks, Jazmine but I'm pretty sure nobody would want that hunk-of-junk." With a wink, he shut his car door and began walking towards the restaurants door. By the time Jazmine got there, he was already holding it open. "It is really good." Smiling, he agreed that they should hurry up and eat so that they could do some joyous grocery shopping.
"Have you ever been here before?" he asked, turning around to look at Jazmine. The lights were sort of dim except for the ones over the bar; their light danced around the walls in primary colored beams. At the moment, Jazmine looked purple.
They only had to wait a few minutes before a girl popped up from nowhere holding two menus. At first, she looked bored but then smiled when she saw Carter...he knew her. Stacy; from school. She was one of the girls in the Jazz Choir; sort of preppy what with her white teeth and blonde hair but still nice. "Heyy. When did you start working here?" They smiled friendly smiles before she handed Jazmine both menus and answered; "Last Tuesday...My dad said he was gonna' stop paying for my car...so here I am." Carter said something about her being lucky to have one and not one of those poor kids who have to walk; joking about himself of course. they talked like that for a while...just catching up. "Stacy, this is Jazmine." He said, after a minute.

Jazmine said it was nice to meet Stacy but when the both of them shook hands and looked at each other, their eyes were flat and sort of uncaring on both ends. It confused Carter; they both liked him but neither of them seemed to like each other. After a while, Carter felt rude for making Stacy hover; it was almost rude to Jazmine though he'd only been trying to introduce her to one of his friends...and Stacy might've gotten in trouble for chatting so long. The last thing he wanted was to get Stacy fired from the job that let her keep her car. He was still thinking about that, and the guitar comment as they sat down in their booth. 'They'd have to be desperate,' he thought, 'to steal my guitar' [/i]. He'd been meaning to buy a new one but money, money, money. Buy a car, buy a guitar, pay the bills for a zoned out mom. Blah. They'd better not steal his guitar...he wouldn't be able to have one at all, then. "I'm gonna get...hmm" He sighed but then smiled as he found what he wanted. "That." he said, pointing to the sandwiches section at a cheeseburger and fries. "I know it's a boring choice, but way worth it."A few minutes later, a random waiter--not anyone Carter had met before--came to the table instead of Stacy. He asked for their orders and what they wanted to drink; Carter ordered his with a Pepsi and looked to Jazmine for what she wanted. When they got their drinks, Carter took a small but well-needed gulp of his Pepsi. Jazminethough...nearly drained hers right off the bat. He had to be careful--his reaction; laughing had nearly caused him to spit his drink and nobody would've appreciated that. Choking minorly, Carter laughed now that his mouth was clear. "So I see," He smiled, eyes flashing in the dim lighting.
The next thing Carter knew: there was a loud noise-- it blasted right when the noisy sound system paused. It was some random ringing noise which turned out to be his cell phone. Quickly, he pulled the annoying thing out of his pocket and eyed it warily. It was brand new; his first cell phone. He hadn't set an alarm or at least not knowingly yet that was what the LCD screen flashed. "Whoa...do you know how to shut it off?" He said, practically tossing the phone across the table. You'd think that there would be an 'off' button but he wasn't finding it. The whole thing was kind of humurous...Carter had never really been good with electronics. Not even with simple things like a cell phone.
Eventually, their food was placed in front of them by the waiter who was really polite which Carter always appreciated. "Mine's great too." He paused, and quit smiling momentarily to take another bite of his hamburger. This unexpected place had always been his favorite...ever since he was old enough to walk here. After all, the pantry was usually empty as well as the fridge when he was younger. He'd always been the man of the house--or at least since around age eight. What would his mother have done without him? Probably starve, actually. Their roles were oddly reversed.

"Me, too." He sighed, looking at his half uneaten burger and few fries that were left behind. It had been a big burger. "It was pretty good, huh?" He grinned, tapping his pockets one by one to find a brown leather wallet. He found it sitting next to him on the booth chair--it must have slipped out of his pocket. It would've been a tragedy to lose that thing...
Carter fished enough money out of his wallet to pay; it was pretty reasonable actually. $21.89. Jazmine asked for a to-go Dr. Pepper and Carter asked for a box...he'd eat the rest later or something. At home. Just before the waiter left, Carter gave the ticket back
and smiled. He'd left a generous tip; as generous as he could afford anyway. "My pleasure, " Carter said, standing up when he had his hamburger all put away in the black Styrofoam box, he coughed. "Thanks!"Carter said to the waiter. "You have a good night too." Carter smiled, putting his hand on Jazmine's shoulder unconsciously to guide them both out the side door. It was less crowded that way; no waiting lines.
At the side door, Carter stopped and held it open--he had gone out first; it was the least he could do--He waved at Stacy as they left. She looked happy enough; very pretty too. She couldn't have been in too much trouble for the chatting they had done. "Wow ... you were raised right!" Jazmine said, smiling and carter mumbled, "Not really," under his breath. His mom was usually up on too many painkillers but back in the day'--back when Carter was growing up--it was alcohol. She'd never really been there.
Carter was mainly raised by Jinx's mom when she wasn't up on Xanex or Valium. Jinx and Carter had quite a few things in common...he couldn't help but to think it had only brought the two boys closer. When they got to the car, Jazmine leaned on there, against the side with her head propped up beside her drink. Carter had just set
his box of food inside when she asked him the craziest question he'd ever heard. 'Would you like to drive my car--' He nearly choked on the air. He really wanted to but it would be just his luck to wreck it. Jinx was always teasing him, though, when driving Jinx's car that he was like a granny with how careful he was.
"I...ah I really shouldn't." Carter bit his lip and looked down. His eyes were twinkling in the streetlights with want...he just...he would die if he hurt that car. Even more than that, if he hurt Jazmine. At the thought, he shivered.

Carter was still thinking, thinking about how cool it would be to drive a car like that because he'd probably never get the chance again. He sighed, just about to decline her offer when she walked around the car--presumably to get in the passenger seat--so he raised his hand to stop her. To his immense surprise, though, she got to him first.
Jazmine put her hand under Carter's chin and tipped it upward so that his dark eyes met hers. Biting his lip, he listened as she said his name and smiled, biting her lip too--she came in for a hug which shocked the poor boy out of his mind. Maybe he had lots of friends but none of them were this close. More than that, none of them were this ...attractive. He was glad that she couldn't see his face because of the rosy blush decorating it. Really not wanting to miss the opportunity, he wrapped Jazmine into a hug too; his arms looping down around her lower back and holding her close. Offhandedly, Carter noticed that she smelled really good.
She told him, in a soft light and soothing tone that she wanted him to drive it. She tried to reassure him saying that she trusted him completely which was kind of strange...seeing as how they'd only known each other for how long? But he understood that. He felt really comfortable around Jazmine, too. And not just because they were hugging not three minutes before. "Well...if you insist." He smiled slightly, trying to reassure himself more than anything.
Jazmine gave him a smirk as she opened the passenger door and smiled at him. Her eyes had looked really pretty just then...in the dim light. It made his heart beat funny and butterflies flutter around in his stomach. That feeling was almost completely foreign to him. He cleared his throat, realizing that he was still standing there, keeping them waiting. As he reached the drivers side door, he opened it and ducked inside; a grin turning the corners of his mouth up. Sitting in the drivers seat, he sent a slightly nervous but infinitely more excited glance Jazmine's way. He hummed appreciatively as the engine started...it sounded smooth and powerful. With a gulp, he pulled out of their wedged parking space expertly and merged into the late-night traffic. A silly grin was plastered to his face as he rolled down his window--he felt like a little kid again.
"Whoo!" He yelled. A good song was playing on the radio, he was driving an amazing car, sitting with an amazing girl and he couldn't possibly be happier than he was in this moment. What a great day.
